More than a year in.

Close to a trillion Rand spent, indebting our children even further.

Corruption and scandals around Covid rife.

Citizens are dying.

Yet here we are, facing 2020's lockdown regulations.

Another overwhelming victory for the ANC looms in October 2021.

It's not like there is a better alternative.

Government not as eager to listen to experts anymore. Experts told them to close the schools. They did not.
Maybe they finally realise how much tax revenue they will lose out on.

Indeed. Read between the lines of what Ramaphosa is saying here. The medical establishment with their max. lockdown mantra seem to be sidelined for the moment. SA has zero money to support employees and employers of closed businesses. ZERO.

“There seem to be indications that we need to increase the measures, particularly in Gauteng ... [but] we need to find a balance between saving lives and livelihoods,” Ramaphosa said.

It is too late. The new variant running amock in Gauteng already spread too far across the country. In coming weeks every province will experience the same.
What new variant is this?

For weeks and weeks leading up to the third wave all we heard was how the third wave would be upon us any day.

Third wave arrives: OMG we're overwhelmed! Panic stations!
