My 2 year contract with CellC expires end of July. Do I need to give some sort of notice to CellC that I want this contract and its services to end permanently?

I recall (many years ago) that my dad had a Vodacom contract which automatically shifted to a month-to-month contract after expiring. He had to pay for 3 more months as he did not notify Vodacom 3 months ahead of time that he wanted his contract ("services" might be a better word here) to end.

Hi Bar0n

Please send us a 30 days notice for contract termination, or handset will be on month to month.

Regards

Also remember if you don't cancel, and it shifts to month to month you would also revert to standard pricing on the product ie no discounts applied.

Thanks. I'll notify them this weekend probably.

So I went to the CellC shop and was informed I can only cancel it on 30 June, exactly 1 month before 31 July... :wtf: Really?

I had 2 Cell C month-to-month contracts and cancelled them both sperately via email. No forms to fill in and nobody even called me to confirm. Both were cancelled within 5 days of sending the email and I am now using the numbers on prepaid.

Hi, what is Cell C's email address? I can't find it on their website. Thanks

Note on this, the consultant just tried to make it so I paid another month. After throwing a quasi tantrum (I did not sign a contract dealing with month-to-month cancellation and the cancellation agreement as per Section 6.3 only applies to "If you cancel the Agreement before the expiry of the Contract Period or the Renewal Period" is
6.3.1.1 only the outstanding value of the Equipment on the date of cancellation of the Agreement;
6.3.1.2. the outstanding Subscription Fees and Usage Charges which have been billed but not yet paid by you; and
6.3.1.3. a reasonable cancellation penalty in respect of any of Services which would have continued for the remaining contract period of the Agreement.
and as the name states month-to-month I should be able to cancel this month for next month.) he agreed to change the cancellation to the end of this month.

What I love was the offer of another contract that was 50min, 50sms, 512MB for R30. Where is this contract in the book, why are you not offering it normally? I wonder at the Terms and Cond. of this contract.
