Hi guys, just looking for some advice here.

Moved house this weekend and when we spoke to the lady we bought from she informed us that she had the Explora installed. So on closer inspection I saw that her dish was still up but missing the LNB. I had already taken my dish down from the townhouse we were living in so removed the LNB (Twin LNB) while still in it's black bracket - to make sure alignment wouldn't be an issue. I then also noticed that only one cable was seemingly being used unlike my installation which had two cables to the "explora switch". I tried to swap cables to different holes in the LNB, used one or the other but to no avail I even then tried rotating it a little bit both ways in case it was alignment, certain channels work while others show a E48-32 error on screen. Bare in mind that while fiddling with cables the same channels that worked always worked, while the ones that didn't, kept not working.

Basically what I'm wondering now is did she have the new Smart LNB and was only using one cable while I've been using the usual twin LNB and is that why I've got issues?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If I recall correctly, the smart switch and twin lnb requires you to run two cables from the lnb to the smart switch to H/L and V/L ports and then one cable from the A port to the explora..

If you are using just one cable from the LNB, you will get channels either on the vertical spectrum (?) or channels on the horizontal spectrum (?) depending on which port you connected t the smart switch from the LNB.. This may explain some channels not working while the same other channels do..

Unless you have a need for the smart switch, look at upgrading to the Smart LNB for future proofing..

Yes, it needs two cables to the H/L and V/L ports like you say, that's how it worked at my townhouse. When I was on the roof I saw only one cable was being used and the other was just cable tied behind the dish, that's what got me worried. Basically 201, 202 and 206 and working but 203, 325, 323 aren't, so it makes sense about what you are saying.

I'm assuming if I go and buy a Smart LNB, I'll just need the one cable and it'll go directly into the Explora? I don't need the smart switch it's just how everything was working before.

Correct.. The smart LNB is just a single cable from one of the unicable ports to the explora..

Gone is the mess of cables that go along with the Smart switch...
