Pure negligence/incompetence. Happening far too regularly as well

Strange that the PE Municipality ran two power stations back in the day and never had any transformer or generator blow up?

Eskom hasn't fixed anything, in fact they're probably losing power.

We've just removed so much load with everyone going solar that they don't need to ensure as much supply anymore.

Of course their solution is to do nothing about maintenance and growth and now go after the solar users to take more money from them...

No we haven't removed so much load, plus the fact that they didn't announce load shedding the moment this happened indicates they have actually fixed things.
Plus this happened at 5pm, that's peak and solar isn't working then.

“Shoo, we can’t pay this diesel anymore” fakes explosion. Load shedding returns.
Sure... though this will make them actually use diesel instead of not.
There isn't that many diesel plants to fake anything.

eskom shills will be in shortly to tell you how wrong you are. eskom has improved. just look at the data eskom provides that proves it.

Such a bizarre comment..

So what exactly is the outcome you seek?
He was expecting the world to be on fire and us to be sitting on stage 8 by now. How dare Eskom actually improve and be fixed, they should be dead in the water.
The fact that even after the Koeberg incident, the Kriel incident and this, the lights are still on... It's shocking

The doom mongers actually hope for doom. Strange self-defeating outcome of human psychology: I predicted it would get worse, it didn't, I wish it would.

Anyway, this is obviously bad news. I'm not sure what the arrangement looks like, the transformer redundancy, whether unit 6 is offline for years now or what. The vgbe report just said "A spare generator transformer for Units 3-6 is scheduled to be purchased in 2024."

Best case scenario is perhaps this spare is in place already and is not the blown one.

some honestly and transparency, eskom hid all its troubles for decades and said nothing, maintenance wasnt carried out,
plants got to terrible states, accidents now happening, and just like Chernobyl before it blew up, everybody wants sunshine and roses,
while underneath its turds and trash,

the ANC lost its majority because of this,
