External Antennae for 3G Datacard

Has anyone successfully used an external antenna for any of the datacards?
Does it work? Which one? Where can I get one?

We have a farm site in the bundu that needs to VPN into our LAN but the signal is a bit poor, I want to mount a big Yargi on the “windpomp” and see if I can get the guys connected. If someone could recommend something for me please.
