Hard pass on the Discovery diesel unless you have R150k lying around and a CC for the rest.
OP had gone quiet, I almost think he bought the disco and has some major making peace with his decision to do..
Yeah I think we responded way too late, he definitely bought the disco. This is just sad man. Goodluck to him though and I hope it is trouble free.
I'd start saving money and buy a crate LS engine to do a LS swop. Film it, post it to youtube, get some money back..![]()

no man, this is not a laughing matter. However it would be more reliable that way.no man, this is not a laughing matter. However it would be more reliable that way.

Can I get it as well? Does it cover issues mentioned in the chat? The only Extra;s that i took when i bought the wife's car was the AA Extended warranty(Because the i knew that the car manufacture warranty had expired and there is common items what would need to be replaced ASAP +-6 months) and then the Tracker as the wife will be driving the car 95% of the time.
No regrets
IT should be the SDv6 if it is a 2013 model. Which version, S, SE or HSE? How many kms?It is…. I got it Dekra checked mechanically and they didn’t find any issues, said the car is in very good condition
Engine will cost you more than R100k to replaceMy god …. I was at the dealership and read this forum again (for some reason I didn’t get any notifications)….
I still talked to the person and came out ….. told I will buy it …. But still haven’t paid the money….
So situation is that I have paid 10k already as a holding deposit…..can I afford to lose it if the risk is this high on a car…… May be…
car looks to be in good condition…. However as you said…. All is good until it’s broken..
it’s 2013 discovery 4 diesel…206DT-v6 3.0 with 190k kn on the clock….
i never had LR in my life so wanted that experience ….
anyway I can protect myself with the breakdown and engine issue by getting some insurance from outside or anything (??) happy to pay the premium…..

Like we said previously, engine alone will be R150k, anything else that breaks on that car will be no less than R10k . If you have that kind of money laying around then sure, if not then your disco will be parked at home in the garage gathering dust while you save up for maintenance parts / repairs.
Time to start hunting for a new vehicle.
Yep fortuner 3.0 D4D, bulletproof, with toyota things just goes right. And I guess better to go with Toyota Land Cruiser or Fortuner…. Even though they have 200k kms on clock and 2011-12 models?
Yeah sureCan I get it as well? Does it cover issues mentioned in the chat?
Not your problem.. Walk away from it and demand your holding deposit back...thanks. Can I back out of the purchase? I didn’t sign any contract yet but told them the intention to buy…..
They also fixed some minor scratches…..
