This would be sad if true. Russell is immensely talented and it would be a blight on the sport if he loses a seat to a pay driver.

That puts into perspective just how long it's been for Ferrari and how early the season used to end.

2006, 2007 and 2008 all went down to the last race of the season and had great finishes.

Ferrari had drivers finish 2 & 3, 1 & 4 and 2 & 3.

Racing Point opted to replace Perez with Sebastian Vettel for next season ahead of its rebranding as Aston Martin, despite Perez having options in place as part of a long-term deal. Italian media reporting that Alfa will retain their driver lineup of Kimi and Giovinazzi.

Sauber have their own driver academy and one of their drivers is set to join F2 next year. We could be seeing that Alfa-Sauber want to be a little more independent from Ferrari with Haas becoming the Ferrari 'B-team'.
