Confirmed, both Magnussen and Grosjean are out.

BREAKING: Grosjean and Magnussen announce they are to leave Haas at the end of 2020

Haas will run an all-new line-up in 2021 after Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen revealed they are leaving the American team at the end of the season.

Grosjean – in his ninth full F1 campaign - joined Haas at the very beginning in 2016, racing alongside Esteban Gutierrez, and scoring points in their first race in Australia as they went on finish eighth in the constructors’ championship.

Magnussen, who made his F1 debut with McLaren in 2014, replaced Gutierrez the following year and together with Grosjean pushed the team to an impressive fifth in the constructors’ championship in 2018.

But times have been tougher since with their points tallies dwindling – and so far in 2020, they have only one points finish apiece to their name.

Italian media reporting that Alfa will retain their driver lineup of Kimi and Giovinazzi.

Sauber have their own driver academy and one of their drivers is set to join F2 next year. We could be seeing that Alfa-Sauber want to be a little more independent from Ferrari with Haas becoming the Ferrari 'B-team'.

So Mick to Haas then?

Some interesting stuff regarding the rumours of either Nikita Mazepin or Robert Shwarzman bringing Russian millions to F1.

Shwartzman's primary backer is SMP Bank. SMP is subject to US sanctions and thus Haas, an American team, is subject to American law and will not be allowed to enter in to any deals with SMP.

Mazepin's dad - Dmitry Mazepin - is loaded in his own right, however he finds himself involved in the crisis in Belarus through business and political (he is a Russian oligarch, so ties to Moscow) interests. Amid the Belorussian crisis, Russian oligarchs are using their political connections to prey on Belorussian enterprises and daddy Mazepin has been identified as one of them. One of the companies daddy Mazepin is after is already subject to US sanctions. If daddy presses on with his business ambitions, he himself could be subject to US sanctions. The EU is also paying close attention to what is happening in Belarus and are considering sanctions of their own and daddy Mazepin is on their radar. If the EU sanction him as well, that could prevent the rest of the F1 grid from dealing with him.

Now we know F1 doesn't really care where the money comes from, but this is some serious political stuff here that I am sure few teams will not be inclined to get involved. For Haas specifically, after the Rich Energy mess, I am sure they'd be very careful of who they do business with.

I suspect at least three Safety Car periods.
Add to that the possibility of rain and this is a Race not to be missed.
p.s. Lots of gravel too :)

Agreed, I think this will be a real challenge for the drivers (and a lot of incidents for fans).
