It's official, Alonson is joining Renault in 2021 on a two-year contract!

As i thought, alonso is securing a seat for "new era" early so then if the sport is good in 2022 then he can stay but if its the same old story only a different year then he can call it quits after 2022

What happen to the red bulls, what went wrong.

Seems like both had electrical issues.

In Verstappen's case it kept on trying to switch the anti-stall on. In Albon's case it affected the PU.

He's working on it. It will take time. He set up a commission to find black talent to bring to F1. In a decade from now, every team might have a bit more diversity. It's highly unlikely that Hamilton will have a black race engineer or chief mechanic before the end of his career, though.

He needs a comission to hire a black umbrella holder?

Guys, power unit development is frozen for the season. Whatever a team pitched up with at Austria is what they will be using for the rest of the year

AMGFIA has done it nicely. Investigate Ferrari for engine performance at the end of last season; get them to downgrade the engine and then freeze development. Good show, I am sure their is no bias!

If you had bothered to read the article instead, you would've learned that the commission endeavours to encourage young people to take STEM subjects at school, with an eye towards future careers in F1, and to eradicate systemic biases in hiring practises that currently still skews towards white wang-wielders, even when talent is not the determining factor.

No I didn't bother to read the article because the BLM movement is full of hypocrisy. Do you even live in Africa?
By all means get more black children interested in STEM but how about the west get off their soap boxes and pay attention to the rest of the world for a change instead of expecting the rest of the world to join in their little protests and finger pointing exercises.
Saying #BLM doesn't make it so.

The article wasn't about BLM. And BLM isn't actually an African thing, although the sentiment, in name at least, is no less true here. I can't make sense of the rest of your argument. Social change can't be made by sitting at home drinking tea.

Anyway, I'm going to withdraw from this argument at this point. It's threatening to derail the conversation from the effort to bring about more diversity in Formula 1 into a mudslinging match.

BLM is not a sentiment. If it were a sentiment then it needs a pic of Nicholas cage to go with it. There are many disadvantaged people around the world and skin colour is just one factor for discrimination. Targeted social change is fine, but put your money where your mouth is before you point fingers and make like the test of the world sits on their ass. Some people have been doing this longer that Lewis Hamilton, we don't all make noise about it though.

Charles Leclerc and Valtteri Bottas investigated for possible Covid-19 breach

Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc are under investigation by Formula One’s governing body for an apparent breach of Covid-19 protocol.

Bottas – Lewis Hamilton’s team-mate at Mercedes who leads the championship after winning last week’s race in Austria – and Leclerc both flew back to their homes in Monaco following Sunday’s round.

The second grand prix of the season takes place at the same Spielberg venue this weekend.

Under new rules drawn up during the Covid-19 era, all F1 personnel are required to remain within their so-called bubbles between races as a precaution against the virus.

But a picture of Ferrari’s Leclerc on social media appears to show him posing with a waiter at a Monte Carlo restaurant earlier this week.

Bottas’ bubble consists of girlfriend Tiffany Cromwell and trainer Antti Vierula. The Finn also posted on Instagram while in Monaco. He arrived back in Austria by plane on Thursday. Hamilton has remained on site at the Red Bull Ring this week.

Article 3.14 of the FIA’s Covid-19 Code of Conduct reads: “Any time that Profile 1 Attendees spend outside the Venue during a Covered Event or between Covered Events must be spent with other members of the same Group, keeping interaction with persons outside that Group to a minimum.”

The FIA is now looking into both drivers’ movements to see whether they have broken any rules.

Could Albon be racing for his future? We know how ruthless Red Bull can be.

Verstappen happy to have Vettel as team-mate

Vettel enjoyed the best years of his career at Red Bull, winning four World Championships in a row. Christian Horner was team principal for those seasons and, still in the role today, refused to rule out a return.

“We have so many special memories with Seb. We had an incredible time. If he leaves F1, it would be a loss for F1,” he said.

“We never expected Seb to be on the market, we never expected Ferrari to be so ruthless and not offering him a contract.”

“They [Max/Seb] are both fantastic to work with. We had a fantastic time. We had a great relationship with Seb and it’s the same with Max now.

“Alex is also developing very well. Like I said the timing of [Seb being available] is unexpected.”

Sounds as if Horner would be interested in Vettel if he had a spare seat.

He is a veteran of dealing with feuding drivers and their theatrics.

- Seb and Webber
- Max and Ricciardo

I know, and it's entertaining watching how he fends (fuels?) it when it arises :D Makes for very interesting Netflix documentary moments.
