Lol. FIA coped hard on that one.

"We acknowledge that Lewis could've overtaken and we acknowledge that both drivers were playing games in order to have DRS, but we're gonna penalise Max anyway"
He FIA had telemetry data that they used no doubt.

After 3 laps HAM had not regained his position, thus a 5s penalty.

It poses some interesting questions, because VER slowed to allow him through but HAM didn't take the position.
Hold on a minute...

So you're saying that the "brake check" was 3 LAPS after VER had been told to give back the position? And in those 3 FULL LAPS HAM's team didn't have time to tell him Max was giving the position back?

That story is even more overused than the race card. He went for a check up, not because he was injured. And he carried a big chunk of the blame for that accident.

It's only old because you don't want to hear it.

Hamilton sends guy into wall and takes him out of the race = 10 seconds penalty
Hamilton doesn't want to pass another driver who then brake checks him = 10 seconds penalty

I'm so sick of these Hamilton fan boys refusing to see the wrong he is doing. How can somebody be so ****ing blind? It's annoyingly stupid and borderline trolling. Just stop it.

Oh, we also learnt that under safety car you are allowed to go slower than expected to hold up the field. (BOT and VER)
I already made that statement and it seems to be legal. Dirty tactics, yes (and Verstappen showed Hamilton on the next restart when he went onto Mediums, but legal. It's like Mankading a batsman in cricket by waiting for them to walk out of the crease whilst they're expecting you to have bowled the ball.
Legal, but not in the spirit of the game.

No penalties for Tsunoda for crashing into Vettel. No penalties for Raikkonen for crashing into Vettel. No penalties for Perez being taken out.
Anyone see the irony?

Merc trying to pass as late as possible to run down the laps left for Verstappen to come back at him, that's what popped into my mind during the race.

Not that it would've mattered in the end given RBRs dumb tyre choice.

No, VER was told to give the position back, he slowed and brake checked HAM. HAM never regained his track position within the allotted laps from the instruction to VER and thus VER gets 5s.

But Toktokkie, Lewis slowed down why? There was enough room for Lewis to have moved by Max ,and that was without his engineers telling him. There was no yellow flags/lights indicating an issue either.

Lewis just didnt read the situation properly, and again, his team should have known what was happening.

Perez squeezed Charles, nothing LeClerc could have done to avoid that.

Except back off...remember Perez was squeezed into the corner and was clearly ahead.
But hey...
Not saying Charles couldnt back off, but looking at the incident, its hard for LeClerc to have backed off when he was so tight up against the wall already, and possibly didnt know what or who was behind them.

The 5 second penalty was given very shortly after the braking incident.
