Telemetry said there was no brake test

Even Vettel said so afterwards

But you know, no need for your bias to cloud your judgement
He slowed down at a blind corner . Should constitute dangerous driving . Imho
Regardless of what telemetry said.

The Stewards have access to the Telemetry, more video angles than are shown on TV, and first hand accounts from drives and Team representatives. That is why they make the decisions and not the TV audience.

We all watch F1 because we enjoy it, if you are no longer doing so then stop watching and at least allow the rest of us to savor the close battle we have wanted for the past 7 years....

At least the Turbo Fans stop whining when the race ends, I wish the Race Fans would too.

If that corner is blind, why is there a gap between the wall and the kerb? The corner isn't blind, you are.

We all know Max was breaking for a long time so as to be careful where he was for the DRS zone.
The Hamilnaai fans are crying foul play about break testing or whatever the jargon term is.

So since this is a drama and penalty filled season I'm gonna put this out here first:

Next weekend Max finished 1.8 seconds in front of Hamilton to claim the WDC but gets a 5 sec time penalty :p
Don't be a naai now

What if Carlos was third and only 1 second behind Hamilton?

The telemetry.

Max was very clearly - and consistently - decelerating before Lewis ran in to him. Speed dropped from ~300 km/h to ~120 km/h at the point of contact. Max's braking pressure only became ''abnormal'' in the milliseconds before contact (you can see this in the change of the speed slope prior to contact).

Also take note of the gear graph comparing laps 35, 36, 37. Max was gearing down in a part of the track where you don't shift down.

That Lewis found himself in a situation where they were at a near stand-still - by an F1 car's standards - is his own fault.

Your post made me think of this tweet (just substitute "Stewards" for Brundle and "Staggy" for Pete)

What irks me that people aren't talking about:

Max gains advantage off track
Tries to give the place back and Lewis hits him
Let's Lewis through and retakes him on the drs
Let Lewis through a third time
5s penalty because he didn't give the place back in 3 laps

Sometimes I wonder why it's worth the hassle posting factual reports when people parrot on the same idiotic nonsense that's been rebutted pages ages ago...

In deciding to penalise the driver of Car 33, the key point for the Stewards was that the driver of Car 33 then braked suddenly (69 bar) and significantly, resulting in 2.4g deceleration.

However, the sudden braking by the driver of Car 33 was determined by the Stewards to be erratic and hence the predominant cause of the collision and hence the standard penalty of 10 seconds for this type of incident, is imposed.

Let's be honest, Lulu should really not have been where he was when Max hit the brakes. If indeed he was slowing down because of a potential track hazard ahead, surely hiding under the rear wing of the car in front isn't going to help you see what's coming any better?
