All Max has to do is wipe himself and Hamilnaai out early in the game, before Hamilnaai sets a fastest lap
This way they both retire from race but Max will win by default

Firstly, isn't it already against the regs to drive unnecessarily slowly in the race? And secondly, as I said, the car being overtaking cannot attempt a re-overtake until both cars have passed turn 1.

There are probably better ways of doing it, but that was all of five minutes of thinking ;)
I believe slow driving only applies to qualifying? And I think you misunderstood my example, me and my teammate overtake you (you being the naughty boy who has to give the place back :p) on the straight. We'll go three wide on the straight essentially. And if he is only a few seconds behind I wouldn't even need to slow down too much. So now you've lost two positions instead of one.

But this creates another thought... what if the aggrieved driver chooses to not take the place? That's essentially what happened last race. But that way you could force a 5s penalty to the driver ahead which in some circumstances would be a better option. There must be some obscure rule covering this stuff. Guess you'd be relying on the common sense of the stewards in this instance

Fastest lap would be irrelevant in a DNF situation since they've finish outside the top 10. Assuming of course 10 drivers haven't already retired :p

I feel like the only satisfactory outcome is if both drivers are close during the race and a relatively clean overtake is made. But what I think is more likely is HAM running away from the field in typical Merc style, or some dramatic moment that requires the stewards and then we'll all be shouting bloody murder for weeks after the fact

After Silverstone I was hoping Max takes it. Right now I won't be too upset if Lulu does. Max at Brazil and Saudi has soured this fight for me a bit.

I think we will anyway - I think controversial is quite an understatement as regards the race and the stewards rulings in Saudi.

If Max wins it will be coz of luck
Hamilnaai has better skill (and possibly car)

I hate saying that, but I think it might just be the truth

If you're talking about the last race I agree. But if it's the WDC then I think the complete opposite seeing how HAM has lucked into 43 points with previous red flag situations

Easy to say this when you have fallen on the wrong side of lady luck. He will I'm sure benefit from this in the future and then let's hear the tune he sings. The rules are the rules. Lewis benefitted in Imola but lost out (not crucially as it turns out) at Jeddah. As Denis Leary says, "Life sucks, get a f**king helmet"

I would go a step further and say the same for repairs. But that get's tricky if you rock up into the pits with a half broken car (eg no front wing) and then need to survive a restart + one lap to come back into the pits. You'd rather just retire

HAM also benefitted at Silverstone. Without the red flag he would have been DNF (he had a left front rim failure)

Prost and Senna both won world championships through unscrupulous tactics yet they're both revered as two of the greatest to ever grace the sport (no doubt by many on this thread). They did what they needed to win. Would Max be any different on Sunday should an 'incident' occur resulting in him winning the WDC?

True story and point further proved. Sometimes you're favoured, other times not. I don't think Lando would be making too much noise if he won his first race as a result of a well timed red flag.

Plot twist - Bottas has been playing nice up to now but takes out Hamilton with a big fat Finnish "vittu sinua biatch!" and Verstappen takes the win.

I suspect Bot will be getting a big fat bonus for helping Ham win and for helping win the Constructors title.

Gotcha. Sound logic following a slowing car with space to overtake.
Sound logic demanding Hamilton should overtake to avoid being brake-checked. Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda. What's next @ Abu Dhabi 2021 - Max saying he wouldn't have taken Lewis out if Lewis had've overtaken him?

Edit: Brake demmit

All these Lewis fanboys.
All over the internet.
Posting a still image of him not racing.
Out of context too, in the age of HD video.
Before a "break check" which didnt happen.
Maybe Max should just punt him into a wall.
And say "He didnt give me any room, man"
Small trip to the hospital, never hurt Max, shouldnt hurt Lew.
