Other than you trying to excuse why your do it? ;)
I've repeatedly said it was wrong to do it, but I do understand why he did it. I'm yet to see you say Lewis was wrong to sit on his butt / not overtake. Once again in your eyes Lewis can do no wrong.

Just because you have decided to slow down doesn't give you the right to behave erratically and stamp on the brakes when someone is behind you.

How long was Max expected to reduce speed, cool his tyres, and let the others catch up ?

Which is pretty normal in this game. My point is just that it wasn't as drastic as people make it out. Yes, it was unnecessary but no, it wasn't deadly. They were both being silly buggers.
No it's not normal even for F1 hence the penalty and it's damn dangerous.

He wasn't penalized for life threatening braking, he was penalized for breaking the rules.

Braking to slow down for another driver to pass.
Braking to slow the car down to enter the pit lane or turn a corner safely.
All expected behaviour.
You clearly have zero ability to delineate. I'm out. Wake me up when you've grown up.

No need for me to explain.
I have given the benefit of the doubt.
"Brake checkers" made the claim.
They need to back it up.
Definition: "A brake check, also known as a brake test, occurs when a driver deliberately either taps on the brakes several times or slams hard on the pedal when moving in front of another vehicle, with the intention of causing the behind driver to either collide or take evasive action."

Pretty damn sure that describes the situation which is why I asked for a more plausible explanation according to you?

In the same vane, since when then does Lewis get to decide that it isn't a convenient time to overtake?
Being the overtaker it's absolutely his prerogative. Point me to the rule that says he has to overtake within a certain time frame.

I'm not denying the brake check or erratic driving from Max
That was what the penalty was for, the rest is moot from a legal sport perspective.
Lewis was just as culpable here.
Culpable of what? What rule did he break? Surely you're not saying Lewis was culpable of erratic driving behind Max?
If it isn't for Max to decide when and where Lewis does or doesn't take it, then similarly it shouldn't be Lewis deciding NOT to take it when offered.
Shouldn't isn't going to cut it rule wise. You need a clear rule if you want to discuss the legality of it. Perhaps Lewis could have been penalised for driving unnecessarily slowly which endangers other drivers - I think that is in the same article as erratic driving - I think they would have done that if someone else had crept up on them suddenly. It's a pity a backmarker wasn't around at the time. Was Lewis aware of Max' intentions - i.e. was it proven? Also, how long did it take for Max to give the position up?

To me that means both of them are playing silly DRS buggers. The only thing I can see then coming out of this as already alluded to by other posters is specified passing zones which in itself is going to create a multitude of headaches for drivers and stewards alike
...or just disable DRS for one lap after you are instructed to cede a position would keep it simple IMO.

According to the stewards, not what Max did...
Pretty amazing that he was able to extract such abnormal performance from his car at that moment. If only he was able to brake as hard at other times he'd be unbeatable
