Just check the viewing rights for UK, dont’t think F1TV offers much live action due to Sky holding the rights here unless of course you’re using a VPN...

Seems they own the market in a lot of sports similar to Supersport so I’m still using DSTV now through Nord casting onto Apple TV which is a hack but it works.

I didn't get to see FP1 but an interesting cross section of times there. Was Alonso really that slow or was he running a different program (or tyres) to the guys at the front? Is Norris' pace genuine or was it a low fuel glory run?

Juan Pablo Montoya (his BMW Williams days, not McLaren)

He could have been World Champion but I think his anger issues got the better of him in the end. Remember the infamous video of him and the cameraman.

I miss Nick Heidfeld a lot. One of the all time most underrated drivers, probably better than Jenson Button and it was a pity that no top team gave him a shot but that's life. He didn't seem to have the most charasmatic personality so maybe that played a role as teams will also consider the marketability of the driver they are hiring.

Interesting archived Reddit thread on Michael Schumacher's first retirement from F1 in 2006. Apparently he bowed out because he didn't want Kimi to be his partner at Ferrari and instead wanted Valentino Rossi.

Schumi's first retirement also was a bit odd because his body language and statements didn't exactly seem positive at the time and he appeared reluctant, unlike the second time where he seemed relieved to get it over and done with.

Yep, I came across details about Schumacher's ''retirement'' a few years ago.

Luca's jealousy over the Todt-Michael-Brawn triumvirate essentially put Ferrari in the place it finds itself 15-years later. In typical Ferrari fashion, politics undermined on-track performance and tore apart the most successful technical and driver partnership it has ever had.
