Yep, I came across details about Schumacher's ''retirement'' a few years ago.
True, Schumacher was still fast when he retired and he probably would have won 08 if he stayed on. In a way though Schumi was to blame, he shouldn't have run away from the fight vs Kimi but embraced it.
He probably would have started to get outpaced by Hamilton, Rosberg etc from 2010 onwards.

I'm not really excited for AM per se, I'm hoping AM makes Vettel rediscover his Mojo and he can be competitive again. For some reason people are excited to see AM back in f1, I really don't know why, and I'm one of them
No, you are not.Am I the only one who's getting the sense that Lewis Hamilton isn't as interested in Formula One anymore? That his mind seems to be elsewhere? I know he has a lot going on but his energy isn't on the level of the other drivers especially off the track.
I could be talking nonsense though because I don't know him personally and how he feels about being in the sport but man...

Why? Why make things harder for yourself? Ferrari's recipe for success was having Michael as the undisputed #1.
The 1999 title fight was tight in part because McLaren allowed their drivers to race; in Austria Coulthard spun Hakkinen to the back, forcing the Finn to fight back to 3rd at a track where McLaren were untouchable (they had outqualified 3rd place by over a second) and later in Belgium he made contact with Hakkinen at the start again and went on to win the race, with Hakkinen refusing to shake hands after the race. In all Coulthard took 10 points off of Hakkinen and he would've sewn the championship up with 2/3 races to spare instead of having to thrash it against Michael in the final two rounds. It could also be argued that his infamous Monza spin was attributed to the heat of the championship fight, made unnecessarily close by having to fight his teammate.
This is why I understand the Mercedes situation with Bottas. Why risk giving Hamilton a stronger teammate? You have your #1, he delivers, you are making history. Keep going.
No doubt in my mind Michael wins 9 championships (2007 and 2008) by the time he retires. But Luca wanted to be the king of Maranello and he was willing to destroy his team in order to do that.
Do yourself a favour and read , The Unknown Kimi Raikkonen. Made me understand and respect the man even more. If you want an e-book version, let me know on PM, because I can't legally distribute itKimi... yasus...
This is a oke I could have alot of fun with, I would test the shyte outta him.
I suspect the 3 former drivers champs (Raikkonen, Vettel and Alonso) fighting it out near the back of the midfield.I was hoping that too but it appears that without a photocopier racing point have designed a go-kart.

Kimi came from a lower middle class family, read the book. I can't say more without spoiling some.Yeah, him and LH are two of the few guys who did not come from extremely loaded families though they were not poor.
LH seems to get a lot of hate as well but he is the only driver who has one at least one race in every season. Granted, McLaren has never been the worst car in the field but it's not like they were ever the best either.
