Does Max’s grid penalty apply to both the Sprint and Main Race?

no thats incorrect, he didn't select which cars could unlap themselves. 5 cars of the top teams had unlapped themselves already and 8 slower end rear of the grid cars had not done so.. he decided to let the pack race for the 1 lap remaining. If he had waited for the 8 slower cars to unlap themselves then the championship would have been decided under the safety car (how boring... no racing) he gave the world what it wanted, a race to the finish, and it was a flippen good last lap tussle. The rear 8 cars made no difference to the race results no matter where they finished.

you've got the rules and what the race director can or cannot do under a safety car a bit skewed.
OK I will take the bait here.

1) if Masi was within the rules and has the authority as you say then why did he not sue the FIA for unfair dismissal?
2) The instruction was that the cars between Hamilton and Verstappen only were allowed to unlap to provide a two car race to the finish.
3) All well and good except that Verstappen had pitted for fresh rubber, Hamilton had not as if the rules were followed the race would have ended under the safety car with Hamilton as the winner.

So yes it was an exciting finished choreographed by Red Bull telling Massi what to do.

Seems people does not know what happens under hand where big money is involved.
Masi was not fired. They told him there is a lot of uproar from British fans and media, that can effect sponsors, and someone has to take the blame to keep them happy.
They gave him one huge cheque and he is drinking Pina coladas on an island enjoying his "dismissal'

Forget the “human error” part? Which human made the error?

Geez my ou.
Any lawyer will have a field day in court for unfair dismissal about human error.
But it did not happen. There was no wrong doing, he took the fall with a BS dismissal and a big paycheck, now drinking Pina coladas.

Lol. He’ll just take one for the team eh. Ruin his reputation and not defend himself for money.

Ok there was no British bias according to guess........ a Brit
Where there's smoke there's fire

Herbert is a prize po3s. Sky even got sick of his whinging and that's saying something.

The fact that he was a steward for the swearing community service AND last weekend's 20 seconds ( Max fully deserved the 2nd 10s penalty) tells me all I need to know.
