Not F1-related but somewhat connected to the halo concept. I stumbled across a couple of images from the 70s where a pair Indycars ran a sort of roll cage/head protection system. Unfortunately I cannot find any information regarding any of them.

Merc using Spa to sort a couple more engines for Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton will suffer a 15-place grid drop at the Belgian GP - but more penalties are still expected to be incurred by the world champion this weekend at Spa.

Hamilton's Mercedes W07 car was fitted with a brand-new engine for Friday morning practice at Spa with the introduction of his sixth turbo and MGU-H of the season automatically triggering a 15-place demotion.

However, with Mercedes expected to fit Hamilton's car with at least one other fresh engine before qualifying, more penalties are set to follow, condemning the world champion to the last row for Sunday's race.

The tactical decision to start Hamilton from last at the overtaking-friendly Spa circuit is the long-anticipated consequence of the mechanical problems which blighted the world champion's Mercedes car at the start of the season.

Ought to be fun to watch.

My prediction for Sunday now that we know Hamilton will take maximum penalties:

first Max Verstappen (Home crowd Advantage) followed by Daniel Ricciardo, because he won't want to let Max out of his sight. Then Nico Rosberg because he will be driving with his eyes glued to the Mirror, not the road in front, to keep a watch for Hamilton who will finish 4th.
