My prediction for Sunday now that we know Hamilton will take maximum penalties:

first Max Verstappen (Home crowd Advantage) followed by Daniel Ricciardo, because he won't want to let Max out of his sight. Then Hamilton because Rosberg will be driving with his eyes glued to the mirror, not the road in front, to keep a watch for Hamilton who will pass him with 10 laps to go.

Rosberg to win.

4-way fight for 2nd and 3rd between the Red Bulls, Perez and Hamilton. Don't discount what the sheer grunt of a Mercedes engine around here menas. If a Force India or Mercedes can stay within DRS of the Red Bulls they'll be defenceless on the run to Les Combes.

Add to that the fact that both Merc's will have upgraded ICU's, that have had 5 development points spent in them, and they will be even more powerful.

Formula 1: How fit does an F1 driver need to be?

http://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/37191374

Williams F1 development driver Alex Lynn demonstrates to Tom Clarkson what it takes to stay fit and strong in order to be a successful driver, and explains that it was Michael Schumacher who really began the fitness revolution in Formula 1.

"Fernando Alonso has been hit with a 35-place grid penalty for Sunday's race." - pitpass.com

"A third change of engine for Lewis Hamilton sees the Briton incur a total grid penalty of 55 places." - pitpass.com

Unnecessarily complicated and stupid rule regarding power unit changes. I still maintain that the new turbo engines do nothing for F1 and the old V8's should come back. Costs are ridiculously high especially when held up against the FIA's huge plan for cost cutting and lying to new teams about a "budget cap" that never materialised.

I like Alonso's take on it though, definitely the mark of a mature driver.
Fernando Alonso said:
I expect Lewis [Hamilton], who'll be starting next to me, will be quicker than me, so I'll try to hang on to his tail, put a rope around his car and get him to pull me through the field!

How does a 35/55 grid place penalty work? If there only 22 starters?

They just move the driver to the back of the grid. Anything above 22 doesn't mean anything and doesn't get carried over to the next race.

last year the balance carried over to the next race, this year the extra penalties are discarded, hence hamilton banking 3 engines in one race, get all the penalties in one go and ignore 2/3rds of them.
If he wanted too he could even take a 4th after quali as he cant be demoted any further.

Very interesting. Lewis sounded quite dejected in the post q1 interview. Should be good for 3-6 place finish tomorrow? Rosberg to win it unopposed.

Rosburg is not doing very good starts this year, Max could well take him at the start and lead into the first corner, then it is upto Rosburg to over take him and we have seen how difficult that can be. But either way a battle at the front could slow down the rest of the pack and help Hamilton get up to the front.
