Granted, you have valid points.

Why however did the marshals not punish him, given their strict adherence to the rule books ?

And wtf was that fire on the Ferrari ?

Fire was the plank...you can see after the first corner, Raikonnen was leaving a lot more sparks on the ground especially on that climb when the car sits lower.

Was a fun race to watch. I think the Ferraris did well to end where they did. Hamilton a bit lucky everyone had issues, but hey, thats the game.

Verstappen really is starting to piss me off.

He is obviously the blue eye kid, he is not making friends though.... pushed so many of the track already... vettel and rosberg got penalised immediately doing the same thing, perhaps it was a little more obvious yes, but still the same thing he is doing imo...

At moments I like the kid, but things like this piss me off about him... good fight back from the Ferraris, possible 2 / 3 they lost out on.

For him it's about the results not the popularity ... I foresee him possibly going the Lauda route through his career.

I don't know, but there are inconsistencies. If you are going to hammer Rosberg then you need to have a look at everyone.

He's good for the sport, I'll give him that, maybe that is a reason. I myself love watching races from the 70s where they bump and barge one another, but I understand that it was a different time.

Cars were not that fragile then .
If you want to see bumper cars , watch the Aussie V8 series . Very entertaining .

Carbon fiber is as brittle as spaghetti sticks if bent in a way they weren't designed to .

That was for different reasons though. Lauda drove with the risks of racing at the forefront of his mind, fearing for his and the safety of other drivers at all times. Young Max seems to think he is the only one approaching a corner at 320 km/h. If it goes wrong he is liable to take someone with him and that is why I can understand the concerns expressed by experienced drivers.

In the channel 4 coverage, @1:36:12 David Coulthard had this to say " Max, that was a late move you can't do that. But er its er, there is a very clear rule that you have got to determine an effective move, you can do it of course but it is frowned upon, waiting to see where the car goes and then doing it."

So there we have it from a former world champion and that is why Kimi was upset but the Stewards did nothing, it is NOT illegal, just not etiquette.

Who? DC? He wasn't a WC (unless I'm misreading your comment).

But he was - he just did it through Hakkinen :D

Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff has likened Max Verstappen to Ayrton Senna but also called the 18-year-old "refreshing but dangerous" following the Belgian Grand Prix.

The guy brings the sport alive. Do we or don't we want to watch racing... battles...
This is stuff that we have been whining for in F1 for ages.

DC wasn't a champion though. Vettel, Button and Raikkonen on the other are and they all agree that his antics are dangerous and/or illegal.

Apologies I see he was runner-up in the 2001 Formula One World Drivers' Championship, driving for McLaren, not the WC. I always manage to mix up DC and Damon Hill.

But the point I was trying to get across was that even the experienced commentary team are unsure if it is legal or not and as the Stewards did nothing, not even investigate, implies it was legal.

Even if DC wasn't WDC I still think he out qualifies any of us in this instance.

Quoting current drivers on rules issues is irrelevant, they all bend the rules to suit themselves. Only the Stewards can make a rules call.

And the fact that a trio of active world champions disagree with him over the matter?

You posted whilst I was editing but the edit was to say:

The problem I have imo is that the rules are not applied equally and that they almost encourage VER to entertain us. :whistling:
