Who approved that hideous yellow SAP logo on the side of the McLarens? Looks horrible.

It's friggen fugly.

Just makes it worse. And on top Button gets a 5 grid drop for a gearbox change.

Fekk it

I fear snorfest, but hope I'll be mistaken.

The grid order is so repetitive and has been for most of the year, difficult to be optimistic.

But we keep hope.

Only Williams can possibly intervene, otherwise excitement will need to be watched in the midfield.

Wonder if the rumours of three smaller teams boycotting the US GP today will turn out to be true. There's a revolt between the larger and smaller teams at the moment with Suaber already being outspoken about the issue. The sport is lacking the advertising we are used to seeing, then F1 is only available on pay tv and lastly you could go to a race but then you are going to watch a very quite parade behind Formula Mercedes. Even when Vettel and Schumi were winning back to back championships, the sport was more exciting.

Speak for yourself. Im enjoying Hamilton vs Rosberg way more. At least its a 2 way race.

I get the rest tho.

I doubt it, to do that just as F1 is starting to repair its image in the US following the 2005 fiasco, would be suicide for the Sport and ultimately harm the very teams that caused it.

Apart from which, Suber are in with a shot at scoring a point this weekend which would go a long way to appeasing their sponsors whilst Force India are too tightly embroiled in their battle with McLaren to throw it away now.

But the threat has worked, Bernie E at least is now listening and actually accepting some responsibility for putting the Sport in this situation. The posturing will continue to the end of the season but the real action will take place in the winter break. The big teams will have to agree to a more equitable share of the spoils or there may not be any smaller teams signing up for 2016 and beyond.

As for Ferrari being key to the success of the sport and therefor getting the lions share, those days are long gone. But the appearance money they get will keep them in the Sport even without Fiat giving them budget to play with. That alone will be a major stumbling block to any equitable distribution as they have a veto. Personally I couldn't give a hoot if Ferrari left F1, especially if it meant that smaller constructors could enter and challenge on an even footing with the top 5. In fact it may actually be the best thing that could happen if the appearance money they used to get were shared amongst the smaller teams.

But that is all up to the lawyers and accountants to decide, my only interest this weekend is can Lewis hold off Nico and can Mclaren hold off Force India.

Speaking of sponsorship, am curious if absence of tobacco sponsors is having anything to do with it.

Dammit, Williams! Suspect tactics and pit-stops just cost you a podium. They've been guilty of this all season though.

Hamilton's title to lose. Rosberg will never be a champion. This was his best shot. Grid will be more competitive next season so no more freebies for Mercedes.

I would say yes.

In any given season at least 4 teams had a tobacco firm as its primary sponsor while the likes of Mild Seven and Marlboro sponsored drivers. Aside from being Benetton's title sponsor, Mild Seven could be seen on the cars of most Japanese drivers and Marlboro offered deals to numerous Italian drivers and sponsored Ferrari, Dallara and McLaren at the same time at one point.

Well done Lewis.

This is his championship and he has worked very hard for it, and deserves it.

Rosberg is an idiot for handing out 1st places, face after race. Like Stag says this was his best chance and he'll just stay a #2. Then he does not even narrow the gap, tsk.

Nice race and plenty of activity, nothing came easy for anyone.

Perez handed Brazil grid penalty for 'reckless' Sutil clash

Force India’s Sergio Perez has been handed a seven-place grid drop for next weekend’s race in Brazil after the stewards in Austin adjudged him to have caused the first-lap collision that took both him and Sauber’s Adrian Sutil out of Sunday’s 2014 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

Perez collided with Sutil on the first lap after an ill-judged passing attempt at Turn 16 which also saw the Mexican tag the rear end of Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari. The incident denied Sutil - running in the top ten at the time - a shot at scoring Sauber’s first points of the season.

“The driver of car 11 (Perez) could not reasonably have expected to complete the manoeuvre,” read a statement issued by the stewards. “His collision with car 99 (Sutil) was reckless.”

Perez was also issued with two penalty points for the incident, which will stay on his licence for a period of 12 months.

good, and justified imo.
