Facebook and WhatsApp accounts takeovers surge in SA

During the past 24 months, many South Africans have found their Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp accounts taken over by cybercriminals.

While these attacks have targeted some prominent individuals like radio personalities, many people who are not in the public eye have also been victims of account hijacks.

I have had the same thing happen to me. I have been removed from my business page which was my main source of income. My bread and butter and for the past 2 years I have tried every avenue to contact someone at Facebook Support to assist me in getting my page bag. I have had no luck at all. All I get is stupid troubleshooting pages that actually do not help whatsoever.

Please if you have a contact or know how I may get in contact with an individual at Facebook Support will be hugely appreciated.

Please contact me via email or on my mobile.

Thanks,

After getting labelled a racist for telling a nigerian to go back home after he complained about xenophobia in South Africa, I tried in vain to get support from Facebook only to realize that they themselves do not know how things work. An example would be to search the web to change privacy setting on Facebook for instance. It seems that Facebook wants to make it as difficult as possible for users to find settings, so they change things up very very regularly. You might find a page that says "click on A then B and go to page C" only to find the page is two years old and everything has since changed. The sooner people realize that social media is just an effective tool for scammers and hackers to plant social engineering attacks, and that actually phoning each other and speaking to each other is much better, the sooner social media companies will collapse and everyone of their former users will be safe again.
