"Facebook rapist" killed in his prison cell
“Facebook Rapist” Thabo Bester’s death at Mangaung Correctional Centre in May last year was murder, not suicide, a leaked report confirms.

The burden of the "human rights" of convicted murderers and rapists is borne by the paltry 1.6 million living (the 20% who pay income tax).

A far simpler solution used to exist, but 30 years ago the nannystate funders of the ANC (Norway, Sweden, Finland et al) told them not to, and they said "Yes Baas! "
 
But this is in contradiction to the judges’ report, which reported that Bester’s body was handed over to his apparent girlfriend and biological mother sometime in May, according to a 25 May 2022 statement from Detective Captain Tieho Jobo Flyman.

Damn, even this guy can get a girlfriend. You'd think rape and murder would be a major red flag.

You'd think but don't underestimate crazy. Some of the world's worst serial killers have groupies, girlfriends and wives. Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, the Menendez Brothers all got married in prison. One of Bundy's groupies couldn't marry him so she ended up marrying one of the Hillside Stranglers.
 
How many prisons are run by private firms in SA?
Are they successful?
Can government not apply the model to Eskom?

The problem is that society thinks violence, rape and murder within a prison is OK. Even authorities do, they threaten you with that.

You might end up there for something you didn't do, you might sit in a holding cell for something you didn't do, you might have been unwittingly implicated in an elaborate financial crime.

You might have had 2 Black Label draughts, and someone jumps a red light into you, and you end up there because of a zealous law enforcement officer.

Yup. It comes down the the quality of your legal team and government connections.
You can avoid your day in court for decades if you have the right team.
