So last night I was watching a load of cat videos on Facebook (as one does).
My wife started watching over my shoulder and asked me who I was following ... I had no clue how I'd gotten to the videos, but I figured out they were from the Rocket tab:
The weird thing is that my wife doesn't have it on her Facebook app (which still just shows the usual four tabs at the top), even when she went into the Play store to update the app.
I read up on it and discovered it was a trial feature that Facebook had rolled out to a select group of users earlier in March: https://techcrunch.com/2017/03/29/facebook-tries-a-second-news-feed-headed-by-a-rocket-ship-icon/
I've got no clue how I got lucky to be picked and my wife didn't (we both have the same phone). Anybody else here get this?

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the global test in a statement, saying “We are testing a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, customized for each person based on content that might be interesting to them. We’ve heard from people that they want an easy way to explore new content they haven’t connected with yet.”
