I'm not aware of any one area that hasnt suffered an additional failure since they started loadshedding again, just look at the ethekwhini twitter account for unplanned outages, list is huge every day with stuff failing.
My PC has rebooted 3 times this morning in Glenwood.I'm not aware of any one area that hasnt suffered an additional failure since they started loadshedding again, just look at the ethekwhini twitter account for unplanned outages, list is huge every day with stuff failing.

Many of these areas had loadshedding for more than 24 hours continuously, and that is after not having electricity for the majority of the week before this.
That's not entirely true because they do live amongst us.Only way to avoid the LS is to move next door to an ANC fatcat
That is just dbn.^ The real reason we at Stage 5 and not that they fixed jack since last week.
That is just dbn.
I would actually say you have a point.. Maybe not stage 8 but because Durban is so fscked the whole country is just avoiding stage 7In that case its the reason we at Stage 5 and not Stage 8![]()
There was a FB post in one of the community groups from a councilor that mentioned a specific area had a huge transformer fire/explosion a while ago and the temporary replacement parts are so underspecced they were worried if they switched off they'd not get it back on again
I wonder if this is because the voltage is 220v when the power-cut ends, ramping up to 230v an hour or so later. In my area, at least. Was without power for near as damnit 20 hours yesterday...
And now we've gone on a huge neighbourhood driver to get everyone to turn DB boards off and everythign during load shedding to limit the over current issue blowing shyte up when it turns back on.
They explode because they were not specced to handle the load of everything switching on at the same time. If everyone had a timer on their geyser for example to delay turning on, there probably wouldn't be an issue.I wonder if this is because the voltage is 220v when the power-cut ends, ramping up to 230v an hour or so later. In my area, at least.
Less Volts = more Amps = higher strain.
Just ask the peeps in Musgrave how their Tuesday/Wednesday was this week...I'm not aware of any one area that hasnt suffered an additional failure since they started loadshedding again, just look at the ethekwhini twitter account for unplanned outages, list is huge every day with stuff failing.
This statement only true for electronic switch mode power suplies.I wonder if this is because the voltage is 220v when the power-cut ends, ramping up to 230v an hour or so later. In my area, at least.
Less Volts = more Amps = higher strain.
A ton of those are similar vs the same. For the SAME names, Wynberg (Western Cape and Gauteng), Constantia (Western Cape and Guateng), Ladismith/Ladysmith (Western Cape and KZN), etc.Just rename them. Should sort all the issues out...
