Fallout TV/games series discussion | Contains spoilers

For those who want to play Fallout 1 in 2:

Fallout RP updated:

Both links list additional mods which are compatible.

Finished watching the series last night and I'd say I enjoyed it.

My expectations for video game adaptions are always low, but I think they pulled this one off quite well.

Characters, story and world all pretty competently done. No real in-your-face "wokery" to speak of.

Overall I suspect the show was setup to appeal more to those who know the games/world at a high to mid level, not the minutia. Which is probably the majority of those who played the games.

Personally I'm no student of the lore. I played 3, NV and 4 when they were released and never again so from what I can recall I can't spot any glaring issues with it, but I believe those closer to games took issues here and there.

Fallout Tactics is not that bad. Anyone who like games like Jagged Alliance would like it too. The biggest problem with Tactics was that the game was rushed to market. It had bugs, was incomplete, the usual issues related to such practices. Thanks to modders you can have a more complete experience.

Install Tactics, install Redux (mod) and then install Equilibrium, and it is a good game. It has some big overhaul mods too, but best loaded with a mod loader. Enclave (can install it without the game), The Sum, etc.

It is possible that the TV series production team has researched Fallout Tactics ;)

I'm really enjoying Fallout 4, and even the Settlement System. Runs really well even though I moded it with graphical improvement. It looks and sound also really good. Started playing yesterday morning, when I looked again it was evening.

Of course I am going to compare to Starfield. Starfield is graphically and size on another level , but yet it lacks the depth, diversity and life. Will pick it up again when people can mod it.

Shame, he has an actual sad backstory. He was the Enclave's monster, and abomination they kept around. For those who don't know, the Enclave is purist, meaning that they want to eradicate any and all mutations.

I am curious whether Bethesda or Amazon will create a new “Horrigan”?

Horrigan has been gone a 50+ years by the time of the series

Get the 'shell rain' mod
There are AAA FPS games released this year that still do not reach the level of sound that Fallout does when it comes to shell casing hitting the ground

Gravel, cardboard, wood, concrete
A different sound for each surface, and the shell casings stay on the ground. You can even interact with them.

'Realistic' shooters like Tarkov don't even do this
I actually believe Tarkov does not even have dynamic sound when it comes to casings and that it is just a singular sound clip that plays after a second

Yeah the game sounds good. Had a couple of jump scares as well. Also a couple of times when I took off my headphones to check if the sound is coming from inside the house or the game, lol!

The Enclave was also destroyed in Fallout 2, yet brought back in Fallout 3. Horrigan won't be back, but a new abomination might be. Horrigan was an enhanced Super Mutant with cybernetics, so, cyborg.

You should get a room with @rambo919
He made the same baseless "overpowered heroine" claims and went awfully quiet when I asked for proof.
I took a break from this toxic dump of a forum for a while.... so I went quiet all over its not just you lovey.

And no I don't base my claims on youtube I watched about half the series when I got bored enough to get over my disgust of the first EP.... it did not get better only more explicitly gory to cover up for the lack proper story writing talent.

If you apply reading comprehension to what I write you would see that she is overpowered IN COMPARISON to everyone else who also gets their asses handed to them.... even though she is at best half the mass of the males she still somehow either performs just as well or better.... I myself am not particularly strong but I could break her like a twig.

I never played it a second time... it was ok till the last mission which was just plain ridiculously OP. But at best it was OK... maybe I will retry it at some point with the redux mod.

The thing that gets me, is I can take a reboot if it's explicitly that... but the way bethesda plays fast and loose and simply changes anything that they feel like outright ruins the lore. No respect is shown for the source material and I generally don't count F76 or this series as being part of the cannon at all.... or I should just give up and abandon the series entirely.

The problem with SF is it's a mile wide and an inch deep.... apparently F76 is worth playing now after 6 years of updates.... SF will probably take the same amount of time to fix.
