Fallout TV/games series discussion | Contains spoilers

It is Fallout. The lore has been condensed (with rewrites), which I will discuss.
Maybe it gets better. :cautious:

The post-war state is encapsulated in the 50s. Though there were technological advancements, resource scarcity is the crux in which the alternate universe is set. It is an equilibrium. There is more to it which needs to be delved into.

Embracing that 50s capsule was not a mistake on Bethesda's part. *blasts 50s music*
You missed my point. They cover up the lack of Fallout-ness by blasting 50s music.

Here is my opinion. There is too much 'Fallout-ness' to put into 8 episodes. More emphasis is placed on character development, and pre-war developments. Season 1 I will title, "The Good, the Bad and the Ghoul". Season 2 will be the next "New Vegas". It will be a slow drip.

As I already said, they condensed the lore. The music, it 'blasts' in Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4, as it did in the TV series. This being not a game, there is no control.

For what it is, I gave it 9/10. There have been lore deciders that I don't approve, and it not even about the NCR.

It feels like what a normie thinks Fallout is.
"Haha teehee, le random, amirite guys." *blasts 50s music*
What, you expect them to make the series for the 5 of you circle jerking each other over your lore knowledge?

I think we're talking past each other.

It's not lore I'm bothered with. It's feel. Or maybe we're using the word 'lore' differently.

The Halo show doesn't follow Halo lore. Well, it has Spartans, and Covenant and so. It has "units", but it makes its own story.
But it still FEELS like Halo, if that makes sense. Or it feels like what I think Halo is like.

This Fallout show doesn't FEEL like Fallout to me. I don't care how many power armour suits or yao guais they put in it.

This sounds dumb, but it's the "essence/soul" of the show I'm not jiving with.

You haven't seen me complain about lore once.

What is the essence/soul you have a problem with, where isn’t it Fallout?

Presentation, dialogue. The props are fine. The world is a bit, eh, but that's just a production issue that I assume will get improved in S2.

The beginning of Ep2 with the doctor in the lab, felt like Fallout, I guess.

You're asking me to describe the feeling of sound.

I'll continue watching and point out what feels like Fallout to me, if any. Maybe I can paint a picture through many pictures.

@Fulcrum29 you know what would be a perfect example of "feel", despite the movie having nothing to do with something?

Event Horizon. That movie is the best unintentional Warhammer 40K "experience" despite having literally nothing to do with it.

It's regarded as possibly the most accurate "feeling" movie depicting the effects of Chaos on humans and the dangers of travelling through the Warp.

I get you, but Bethesda changed it a bit, also considering that they need to compress a vast wasteland into a TV series. It is quick travel. It was the same with the games: it worked in a 2D isometric game, but then made it a 3D game. The world is shrunk. It is the point I made with the NCR; at their peak they were ~700 000 citizens. A modern city like Seattle has a little over 700 000 citizens. It is not that big, not in the USA, not even in an apocalypse. People are spread out, thinned out. The world is still plastered in propaganda.

Just play Fallout 76, and see what the world is like when you exit the vault on Reclamation Day.

New Vegas is canon. Players are upset with their ending, and decisions, not being canon. Todd went on the record now with IGN. Shady Sands blew up somewhere between New Vegas and the TV series. I expected as much.

Players need to move on. Ever since Bethesda acquired the IP they reset the canon.

Ah, I see you're new to the internet. Welcome.

Yeah, another Woke PC shitfest. They love to destroy games and movies in this way now in Hollywood.

5/10 just because of fond memories of the game.

'Wokefest' ? Why would you say that?

Series is very entertaining

You know what?
Even Maximus kinda redeems himself by episode 7
Those first two episodes started a little rocky, but it comes together well

Some good character development.
Haven't seen anything woke yet, so not sure what some people are talking about

Is fallout 4 still worth playing in 2024. I have a GTX 1070 and would prefer with some graphic mods so it looks almost as good as Starfield.
