False adverts at game

I just came back from game in Walmer Port Elizabeth to upgrade my phone. They advertised and HTC P3400 for free on a top-up 300. They tell me that they do not stock htc and do not sell it but they advertise it. On the advert they even give a gift voucher of R300 with it. Yet they do not sell it or stock it. I was then told that this is just a list of all available phones at vodacom. This is all nonsense as vodacom will not give Game vouchers at the vodashop. Please Game can you tell me whey you are advertising things that you do not sell

Why not just take them to the advertising standards agency.... they can be forced to honour the advert.... www.asasa.org.za

All the shops nowadays seem to do this with impunity. You could complain, but they will be forced to withdraw the ad which would expire soon anyway. It's just the embarassment factor (if they worry about that).

Maybe its not applicable to that game branch ?..Maybe only a select few have that offer running

i do not know. the advert was in the shop on their table for all to see

Contact Game head-office by filling in the form on their website. I did that some time ago regarding a fridge that need repairs three times during the guarantee period. Not expecting much, I was was pleasantly surprised when the a manager from the branch phoned an hour later and sorted the whole thing out.

I got some feedback from game and they now say that they can see that i am right about the advert but will have to see what they can do as they do not sell htc.
