Hi
Has anyone out there successfully implemented the Fastway Eccomerce API for magento ?
I have it all tested and seems to be functioning , just want to know if anyone has had any good / bad experiences with Fastway.co.za & Eccomerce before i let it loose on the general public.

Also seeing as i'm getting quiet deep into the online selling business, are there any other good local forums etc.. for SA eccomerce developers ?

thanks

Must say that a lot of my online shopping is delivered by fastway and I never had the slightest of issues with them. Very quick to deliver and prices are good too.

Yeah, just make sure they don't have to deliver to an address more than 3 line items long or they will just leave saying your package was delivered. Bunch of morons!

Hey, I'm running a Woocommerce store and I want to implement a Fastway plugin that calculates shipping based on address.

Does something like that exist?

Thanks

I've had many bad experiences with Fastway.

I bought SSDs from Wootware, which they lost and then uploaded a fake signature onto their web-site and claimed it was delivered.

Fortunately it was deliver to my work and we have really tight security. When we got security involved and they proved that the guy hadn't delivered it (video footage & sign in register) . They then removed the waybill from their system and stopped communicating.

In the end Wootware just sent a new batch.

Before that I've also had incidents where they were late on 2nd day delivery.

Bunch of scum, but you get what you pay for.

Hey Gnome,

Thanks for that. It's good to know this stuff because I want my clients to have good service. So I'd rather stick with MDS Collivery. They've already got a WooCommerce plugin.

using fastway for about 2 years now. Send at least 20 parcels with them daily.

I'd say they're 70% great, 30% bad. Because its franchise based, different areas have different 'owners'. Therein lies the problem, some owners are business savvy and service centric, while others just put a minimum wage manager in place to manage the processes.

That said, issues were never theft related. Rather delay on delivery and rarely a few incorrect deliveries.

Will we still use them - Yes,
pricing is attractive and the prepaid system works great. We had them install a waybill software and label machine at our place so everything is online and easy to manage

Nice post Naeem, I'm having a similar experience with fastway, and pricing is good & simple. Waybill system sounds cool, need to check it out

Have you recently run into problems with the WooCommerce and MDS plugin? My shipping doesn't seem to process with the payments... :/

An update to Woocommerce broke their plugin. They no longer support Woocommerce shipping zones, your only option is to ship with MDS, even if your next door nighbour wants to buy something on your store, they'll be charged for shipping...
