Hmmm, revenge killing? Or is that just too obvious?

Nope. These small grocery shop owners in SA have just as dangerous a profession as farmers.

When tills or opened or closed is the most dangerous time.

Why? The dad had nothing to do with it.

Shame, RIP and strongs to the family.

I'd agree with you, but pain can make people do funny things. Remember they cannot get to Christopher himself, since he is behind bars.

Or at least, its more difficult to get to him. You'd have to bribe the right people etc. But his father is out in public, and unsuspecting.

Innocent of the crime, but if you are full of hate, you will want to hurt anyone.

I would tend towards this being a case of him being killed in a hijacking....

Just a spot of EWC by a couple of independent comrades.

Police spokesperson Capt Khaya Tonjeni said: “Panayiotou had just closed his shop in Market Street, Uitenhage, and was walking towards his vehicle with his assistant when unknown men accosted him near the Town Hall parking space and fatally shot him.”

Tonjeni said the suspects abducted Panayiotou’s assistant and stole his VW Polo, which was later recovered abandoned in front of a house in Motherwell NU9.

The woman was later dropped in Kwazakhele and went to the nearest police station where she reported that she had been raped by two men.

Their business dealing and finances have been all over the news. It's pretty easy to understand why thieves would target them knowing how much money they have and what businesses they own.

Never mind that the VW Polo (any hatchback model) is at the top of the list of hijacked vehicles - and in VW country nogal.

What are you guys thoughts? Should he be released from prison for a day to attend his father's funeral?

Nope... He should stay in his little cell. He had his wife murdered because he was to cowardly to do the right thing and divorce her...
... to avoid paying a few $$$$ as a settlement. Yup, I have no sympathy there whatsoever!

That and he wanted the life insurance.
You have to wonder how deep the dodgy stuff ran in the family, maybe dad was involved in dodgy dealings too.
