heh... took 'em long enough

with a name like that, I won't be surprised...
After two years of web filtering-related issues, Canadian History Magazine 'The Beaver' finally took the decision last week to change its name. Canada's National History Society (who publishes the magazine) say they elected to make the change after they realized access to their title was being blocked by web filters. The society also found they had difficulty sending emails to their readers and suppliers, which frequently ended up in junk or spam mailboxes.
Deborah Morrison, the president and chief executive of the history society said: "It's only been in the last two years or so that it's been a problem" She also added that records showed that debates about changing the title went back as far as the 1970s.
The name change was announced in the last issue titled 'The Beaver' which was mailed to subscribers last week. Apparently readers were understanding about the change.
