My mood currently is “fu*kit” I will love with the R500 loss for the past 5 days.... sometimes it’s just too much of an effort to bother!! BUT should it not be sorted Monday then I may just have a bit of a fanny attack and freak out at all and sundry!! :D

Ye if the overcharged(Stolen) amount to only about R500 then its definitely not worth opening all sorts of legal proceedings. Just get the issue resolved so it doesn't continue. haha

Please make sure you get someone to video this, if it comes to that, and post it here.

Good News!!!

Please to confirm that no fanny attack required!!

New meter installed, new keypad installed, 25 units refunded and now a month wait for potential refund of the R500.00 excess usage amount.

Very relived that I can boil my cuppa tea and not freak out!!

Thanks for the all the assistance and chat everyone!!

If you ever need a contact number for CONLOG technical support (the meter manufacturer) here it is: ‭(031) 268-1111‬

that's good to hear , hopefully they refund you quickly - hopefully the culprit doesn't try messing with the meter again
but take my advise on the hot water heater , play with the settings you can save a lot more units

The Estate Agent has taken this up with the Body Corporate and they will be reviewing video footage to see if anyone can be seen doing anything untoward.

@MrsGreen, I live in the same complex and have the same issue.
I have had an electrician come out and got the body corporate involved, no resolution yet.

If you would be so kind as to let me know what steps to take so that I can get this resolved, I will be very grateful.

We got a contact number at the Electricity Department and explained the whole story to them, they guided us through a process (it was a real schlep). The contact number is 021 444 7783
