Faxing from teh PC

Hi

I need advice on how to send a fax directly from my pc. We are using the HP Officejet 5610 all-in-one printer

I tried to use this method

But the thing tries to use my fax modem built into a pci card slot, I thought the officejet would've had its own built in fax modem.

How do I connect this modem built into my pc to the fax machine now without borking it?


I also need advice on how to connect to a wireless network from a windows xp laptop with built in WIFI.

If there are any applications available to assist me in this I would appreciate it too.

WRT faxing, I think the built in Windows Functionality requires that you have a fax-modem - one of those 56K ones we all used to love so dearly (after upgrading from 28.8K).

I don't think your printer has a built in Fax-Modem. It might be a fax machine as well, but doesn't support the correct protocols to be also be called a fax-modem.

The only way I can think of using your fax machine to fax from your PC, is if you printer/fax machine came with the appropriate drivers and software to allow it.
