Faxing/Voice with Data Card

I have a Option Globetrotter card and would like to know if it is possible to fax directly using the card as a fax modem?

I'm currently making use of the Faxwhiz service. It works OK but is not ideal. Would like to have immediate confirmation that the fax went through, rather than hoping for the e-mail to go through, hoping the attachment is in a format that the system understands, hoping that I'll receive a confirmation e-mail soon indicating that it did/didn't go through etc.

Lastly, is it possible to use the data card for voice. IE using a Bluetooth headset and the laptop and Skype (data) for long distance and the normal voice calls for the local and cell calls? This one is more of an interest for gadget sake than to actually use it ... I might be able to find a use for this in future though:rolleyes:

Has anyone had any success doing the above?

Yes

With MTN's dash you can do that it works 100% and the new MTN software that is coming out soon will be able to make Video Calls. I did see V3G mention something about the new Vodafone Dash having Video calling in it, but still in testing.

Do you think a person can install the vodafone dash and use the mtn card, and vice versa- Reason - MTN card way cheaper option currently.

Yes

I have tried the MTN dash & the Vodafone dash with the Option (vodafone), Hauwei (MTN), Novatel (Vodafone) & Novatel (unbranded). So it looks like you can mix and match as you like between Cards & software.
