WASHINGTON, Aug 11 (Reuters) - U.S. federal agents were looking for documents relating to nuclear weapons when they raided former President Donald Trump's home in Florida this week, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.

It was not clear if such documents were recovered at the former president's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, the Post said. Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.

The U.S. Justice Department asked a judge on Thursday to make public the warrant that authorized the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, after Trump, a Republican, portrayed it as political retribution.

Well, Merrick Garland asked for the search warrant to be unsealed and Team Treason has 'till 3pm, 9pm our time, to respond... Treason45 posted they should unseal the warrant, but I'm betting there will be an 11th hour objection with 'lawyers advising' him not to... Can't have the warrant out there if you're absolutely, positively going to lie about what the feds were looking for, and what they found, and you're planning to fundraise from red hat rubes off this, can you?

Fascinated that the FBI subpoenaed MAL security camera footage too... Saudi LIV Golf anyone?

Why would they have allowed him to take ANY documents from the White House when he left? Surely they had people packing for the Trumps to get them out? Surely someone should have been checking if anything untoward was happening?
And surely they have records of data that was accessed. Hell, it's all in a server log.

It took the FBI more than 18 months to move on this? OK.

I thought the raid was to search for George W's weapons of mass destruction.

Man who tried to breach FBI office killed after standoff

WILMINGTON, Ohio (AP) — An armed man clad in body armor who tried to breach the FBI’s Cincinnati office on Thursday was shot and killed by police after he fled the scene and engaged in an hourslong standoff in a rural part of the state, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The confrontation came as officials warned of an increase in threats against federal agents in the days following a search of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The man is believed to have been in Washington in the days leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection and may have been present at the Capitol on the day of the attack, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the matter. The official could not discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Some folks will tell you that this is *totally unrelated* to Republican and right wing media spin vilifying the FBI since Monday.

You could choose to pity the fools, but I plan to point at them and laugh.

Exhibit 718 of Trump's similarities with Zuma.

I wouldn't be surprised if much of the documentation would have been moved to Mar-A-Lago during his presidency and Trump was apparently notorious for not following proper process with documents etc.

Fun times ahead which ever why this goes.

How does the media know it's nuclear documents though? I don't see any direct quotes around the contents of the documents other than they might be considered classified?
