A partnership between local police and US authorities has resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old Cape Town woman on Thursday after she allegedly sold naked photographs of her 4-year-old daughter on the dark web.

"The FBI picked this up on the internet and an agent from the homeland security [department] acted as a buyer and traced her to Bonteheuwel via geotagging," said National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila.

The woman allegedly received payment via PayPal.

People are getting desperate financially... I shudder to think what the mother must be going through to be forced to sell naked pics of her kid.

Why not sell naked pics of herself? Why use her child?

It's disgusting no matter how desperate they may be.

Demand and pricing probably. She realised she'd get more for the kid compared to herself - millions of "pedo guys" worldwide ... we have a few here too that posted over the decades/years.

Well she got prison too now, a light may have gone off in her head that there is a reason creeps wanted her photos

The thing is it is Bonteheuwel, I remember years ago reading about underage teenage girls from that neighborhood starring in porn movies.

Would be interesting to see if the mother was a tikkop.

Yes the online sex market is saturated for adult women. I think, there is an opening for selling soiled underwear, (my wife watched Orange is the new Black, and in 1 episode the prisoners sell their used panties), and from my exposure to the internet, I am sure there is some sad simps willing to buy.

I glad the FBI discovered this, because, at least the sick ****s who bought the pics in first world countries will most likely be arrested.

Sounds like it could be entrapment to me, given that an agent from homeland security actually paid her via PayPal to get the pictures.

Irrelevant.

If they suspected her from being involved with this, they can approach a court and obtain an order which will allow them to entrap her.

What she should NOT HAVE DONE was to sell naked pictures of her 4 year old, which is an international criminal offence. She belongs in jail for the rest of her life.
