So why is one considered a mental disorder but not the other? Where is the rationale? It seems to me like psychologists have simply buckled to pressure from one group while another is too afraid to come out of hiding.

Because one is harmful and undesirable and the other is not.

And thay is what they said about homosexuality not too long ago.

And, like the fact that the Nazis introduced the first anti-smoking campaigns and were big on animal welfare that don't mean shiat.

Exactly. Besides not all mental disorders are harmful and not everything that's harmful is a mental disorder.

You still haven't really got a point. The pyschos were wrong about homosexuality and they're wrong about pedophillia. Who gives a feck? Having sex with kids is wrong, having sex with consenting adults is not.

You haven't answered the question. That one can be harmful if acted on isn't a justification for it being a mental disorder. It's not about one being consenting and one not and we are not not debating about the wrongness of one versus the other so get your knickers out a knot.

I only get upset with stupidity from intelligent people so, you have no worries there mate. My knickers are barely rumpled.

I wasn't justifying anything. I'm not a psychologist and I'm not associated with whoever decides what is or isn't a disorder. I was giving you an answer to your question not a justification. It might help if you only actually asked questions when you were curious as to the answer rather than when you wanted to have a conversation you've already thought through in your head.

Personally I don't know that pedophilia is actually a disorder.
