.....................period. – Gareth van Zyl

By Solidarity*

In a letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa and Ministers Nhlanhla Nene and Pravin Gordhan, trade union Solidarity expressed its concern that the management and financial models of the SAA are unsustainable and ineffective. In addition, the trade union announced its intentions to initiate a court process to place SAA under business rescue.................................

IMO it is too late to rescue SAA.

The actions that would need to be taken to save the airline would cause major problems with the unions, etc, and would be very expensive and disruptive.

Maybe I'm a pessimist, and I agree that it is unfortunate, but the damage that has been done to SAA by the ANC Government is just too extreme, SAA should just be shut down.

SAA is too far gone, and owes too much money to sell it, it is just not feasible.

I fear that you are correct. I dont see any feasible way that this airline can be turned around.

Maybe Safair or Kulula (Comair) could take over some of the best assets and staff and take over some of the routes.

Don't really see another solution.

It's a bummer, but, under the circumstances, what else can you do ?

Thanks, ANC.

Honestly, at this point it should just be liquidated. The government should not be spending 1c more towards that company.

I believe you are correct , SAA is a disaster and it is getting worse by the day , even closing it down is going to cost the tax payer a fortune but at least it is once off and finished .

Ramapoosa, will never allow the defunct state run entities to be under WMC "majority profitable" hands.

Cadres need their extra income from these institutions, Ramapoosa will continue the theiving for cretins and himself and others waiting in the wings.
