burn!

I myself am cancelling my contract with them and getting ADSL, I'm not into
wasting money.

Thanks for your efforts mate, and good luck!

Hello

Very interesting letter. I find the complaints you have to be ridiculous.
Everyone knows that your bandwidth will fluctuate to a certain extent
regardless of your service provider and the bandwidth an ISP advertises is
the bandwidth to your ISP, not to the rest of the Internet!!

Also I have found my signal strength and connectivity to have improved
significantly since installing sentech. It improved even more after I
installed a FIRE WALL AND PROXY SERVER (FYI: something that helps to make
your Internet connection FASTER and MORE STABLE) for my network. I have also
found that cloud cover and electrical storms do interfere with the signal,
but not for "unacceptable" times. They also do maintenance from time to time
which is also not an "unacceptable" break in the service.

Maybe you should take the following into consideration: You are paying a
flat rate of only R650 per month (at least I am) and you are not paying it
to Telkom who's service is even worse. You are also supporting a NEW service
and teething problems should be expected.

Maybe if Sentech get enough customers they will be able to ELIMINATE THE
MONOPOLY TELKOM HAS ON INTERNET COMMUNICATION!!! and neutralise the
government's choking grip on the South African Internet Industry. Maybe your
International Bandwidth will pick up if someone upgrades the outdated
exchanges and networks Telkom force down our throats!!! maybe we could even
see them force Telkom into providing FREE LOCAL CALLS for their customers or
other services they ADVERTISE and don't deliver on in order to retain
customers!! (Like the "WE WILL HELP YOUR BUSINESS - THE NETWORK THAT MAKES
BUSINESS WORK" BS they proclaim!!) HELL!! Since Telkom practically OWNS
Vodacom ANY competition will be great!!

Advertising campaigns are what they are: A means to get customers to buy a
product. If you can't read between the lines and get duped into buying
something, don't go crying to the government!! Surely you read their
contract before you signed it and you must have realised the risk you
undertake in signing it, but sign you did. You were probably too starry-eyed
about the idea of downloading movies and MP3s at 128 KB per second for only
R650 per month, am I right??!! ADSL adds proclaim 512KB/s connections and
everyone goes WOW!! until they install it and realise that as I said, the
bandwidth only reaches 512KB/s between yourself and the ISP where it will
have to negotiate with other users' traffic to go anywhere else.

If you want dedicated bandwidth, maybe you should consider $$$ DIGINET $$$!!

LOL!!

I think Sentech is GREAT and I will continue to support them and tell
everyone I know about their service.

At least we can rejoice in the FREE SPEACH we all enjoy, hey?

Have a NICE DAY

Hi
Do you know of anyone who has successfully got out of their contract?
Other than the obvious bandwidth issues, I asked for a PCMCIA card, and got
given an external modem. It's not what I asked for, and I've been
complaining for months - but they keep syaing they don't know when they'll
get the PCMCIA ones back. I'm hoping to use this as a breach of contract,
and get out of it!?
Anyone got experience here?
Thanks

To Whom It my concern

Yes the MyWireless service as been up and down. But we must not lose site of
the bigger picture. They are the only other service provide that I know of
which does not use Telkom in providing there internet usage.

If it was not for Telkom we would all have ADSL lines in our homes and
offices. Telephone calls would be 50% or more less expensive. The real
injustice to you, me and ever other South African is Telkom and government
dragging it's heels in awarding the second service provider, they are
holding the country back. This is where you should be concentrating your
efforts on.

Remember the underlining matter that made you choice Sentech, and why they
brought out MyWireless. Also why they have grown so quickly coursing this
dramatic deterioration of the service. Telkom, Telkom, Telkom

Do your self's a favour and have a look at this site, if you have not

I hate to burst your bubble, but I have never been happier. I can't get
a ADSL or ISDN line from Telkom and this has been an absolute win for
me. Initially I had a few problems, but I can't support your your
complaints!!!!!

Good Day,

Just wanted to find out whom we can contact or whom we must email in order
to be kept in the loop and be kept up-to-date with developments regarding
the Sentech fiasco. We are another set of not-too-happy customers.

Thanks!

Thanks guys.

I saw the draft on MYADSL last night and I'm glad you finally did it -
quite professional - well done! I will continue lurking there and pick
up any news - hopefully you attract a few extra concerned users.

I would personally support any collective customer action that has wide
support amongst the respected MYADSL forumites - including legal.
Sintech is running a pyramid scheme of note under our very noses -
selling the same non-existent service many times over to (initially)
unsuspecting users.

Sending out the email list is the ONLY thing Sentech ever apologized for
(and very half heartedly). It means they're scared and we should keep a
threatening pose.

Maybe summarise any other replies you get to the forum to gauge the
feelings of the customer base out there.

Regards

First of all, I already do participate on this forum, and secondly, if
you know my name, I would like you to have the common decency to put
your name at the bottom of this list.

What perturbs me is that you have access to this email that has only
been given to Sentech, (and inadvertently distributed by them to other
users).

Unless you are going to form a constructive users group, please take me
off your email list.

I believe that the forum contributors, once were constructive, but
there is a certain element that are out to cause trouble. I am not
interested in being party to that.

Contact me if you want to take this further.

Many thanks for the email. I would very much like to be kept informed of
latest developments because, as you say, we are locked into a long
contract which now seems not to be what it purported to offer. Although
I have had no problems with Sentech (I live on the Bluff in Durban, and
I would not think that there are many Sentech subscribers in the area) I
am concerned that the service could deteriorate and there is a problem
with getting redress in the short-term.

Kind regards

Except for that one, it seems the email has been a success. I have not received it though, I did receive the first one you sent out. How many of the original addresses were you able to recover?

Dear Users Online Forum
Thank you very much for your informative information, I too have had a few
problems with trying to get online with the Sentech service Provider. These
problems have not been too detrimental to what i need on a daily basis but
never the less they are still there. I would be very grateful if you could
keep me informed with any systematic problems that may occur in the near
future. I do feel that if there is a fault with one user, then there is
fault for us all which will need to be dealt with.
Once again Thank you for the information.

So the big picture is that because this is South Africa you should just take it up the @ss? Hey, at least it's not Telkom doing it! Get real - cr@p service is still cr@p service whether it comes from Sentech, Telkom or the cafe on the corner.

Good Afternoon.

I am also a customer of sentech and are experiencing the same problem.
What really tics me of is that they have the 1-to-30 users per channel
to fall back on. This really sucks! What can I do to put pressure on
sentech? If all ells fails is there ways to get around their contract
and stop my service.

Thank you,
