Hi all
I would greatly appreciate a moment of your precious time. I am looking to start a new company specialising in PC parts and custom PC builds.
Now we are all acutely aware of the generally poor service received by customers in South Africa in any industry, let alone within the tech space, so the time has come for someone to lay hold of this massive gap in the market and deliver a service that is entirely focused on the customer and not on profits. It is for this reason that it makes sense to first survey the ones who are the primary and most knowledgeable stakeholders in such an endeavor - this being you!
I therefore appeal to you to share your experiences with purchasing components and PC builds, as I am sure that this community is seasoned with users of various backgrounds and levels of expertise with PCs, which will deliver a rounded but on point response to the need for feedback.
Below are some questions that can help guide your answers, but feel free to elaborate to your hearts content, as your feedback will feed directly into shaping the company and its resultant service.
- When you purchase a PC or a component, what is the primary driver behind who you ultimately end up buying from?
- How important a part does customer service play into who you purchase from? (customer service - i.e. consistent communcation and updates, knowledgeable staff, courteous and well-mannered staff, timeous deliveries, post-sales support and refund handling etc)
- Would you pay more for something purely because of impressive customer service?
- Do you feel a sense of loyalty towards a particular company after having had good experiences with them?
- Describe your ideal experience when dealing with a company for the purpose of building a dream PC?
- What are the things that frustrate you about the PC sales companies that you deal with?
Please note that there is no need to mention names of specific companies in responding to this, as the intention is not to expose them, but rather to learn from their shortcomings.
Thank you for your response, it is appreciated more than you know!
