I think they were all beaten and locked up in the dungeons of Sentech where they will be forced to use MyWireless 128K for 2 years. [:(]

I wouldn't call that a summary... I'd call that more of an "Everything went sort-of ok; but wait till I'm not so tired to type a summary of what went down. Have patience dammit!" :)

Telkom se ma...

The spirit in which Sentech engaged was good, and they were candid and open about a lot of issues. As such the attendees from our side do not want to release info prematurely and damage what seems to be the start of improved relations with Sentech.
The minutes were recorded, and still need to be transcripted, also statements need to be reviewed before making public. Please realise no one is trying to keep information back from the forum community, but ensuring that the feedback is objective and fair to all.

I know this is very tedious for those eagerly awaiting news, but rest assured all will be disclosed in due course.

well I think alot of people want to leave sentech after all the nonesense we have had to put up with
especially in the last week.

I realise that you obviously do not want to disclose any critical or super secret information... but I think what we would like to know is if there is light at the end of the tunnel... and if so how far down the line is this
light and is it worth while waiting...

Obviously most of this is subjective and objective but judging from what was said in the meetings on a scale of 1-10 on the hope factor where would you score sentech after yesterdays meeting?

Well, let me put it to you this way, as the only 512k user that represented there, and what I posted about cancelling on Monday, I'm considering downgrading to 128k rather from October onwards (seeing as I already paid for September) to give them a fair shot.

Then again, I'm gullible.

speaking to the "orcs" and even "dark lord" himself i get the feeling that they legitimately want to interact and work with us on supplying a acceptable service sentech has asked that we make a joint press release early in the week regarding this new found understanding and ceasation of hostilities ...

the communication channels have been opened and will be used during the week to further work on outstanding issues without been premature i feel that it may be worth holding on a few weeks longer [im saying this not sentech] as the problems with international have been identified and will need time to rectify and there are still problems at some towers that need to be fixed but require either construction/licencing ...

as of friday i had no hope based on the history that it would go anywhere but i have been pleasantly supprised.

as always dont sign any long contracts with telkom you might have "always on affordable broadband" yet ...

Dont think we dont have ours and your interests at heart.

Anyways, LoneGunman - since you have quite a lot to say - why were you not at the meet on saturday? Shouting stuff on the forum really helps nothing. Its not constructive. It may appear that we are bamboozled. Dont believe it.

Also keep in mind that most of us dont really have time to make 1000 word posts and give details. We have a policy regarding this communication and have a private forum for a reason. Please respect this.

As I said before, actions speak louder than words. We will go about this in the most productive way possible for ourselves and for Sentech.

Well I am sure the sudden attitude adjustment and strange "cease fire" by senior forum users has been noted by all who utilise this forum.

The sudden willingness to work together has also been noted... and now even on this forum we have this "inside" information that is only privelaged to sentech and their new pals... once enemies...

The very fact that information will have to be censored or approved by sentech first is laughable.... what is it that we as paying customers are not allowed to know...

What makes these few senior members so special compared to the next ripped off sentech user? Well could it be these forums as Lonegunman suggests? I think it could be but I suppose we will not be sure until the censored and approved information is released...

Until then sould I wait?
Well someone suggested that they are downgrading to 128Kb from 512kb instead of cancelling all together...

There has been zero improvement on the network... There has not been a peep out of Sentech with reagrds to their international bandwidth... no apology... and yes... helplessdesk still lie. I am still waiting for second level helpdesk to phone me 5 days later... Somehow I feel I am not alone in all this.

I found these forums just a few days ago... I certainly hope I did not find a bunch of sellouts...

I would like to add to what greedyfly said, I personally would have loved to see Lonegunman in action when we met with the Dark Lords on saturday, and lets make this clear (and this is in my personal capacity, but I think the rest of us will agree whole heardedly) this is the LAST and ONLY chance Sentech has to get things right with the consumer, we made this fact clear at the meeting, the exact word elludes me, but transcripts would probably be made available.

Sentech nervously made jokes of us launching more websites, we have THEM at the balls, not the other way around... I think we're more intelligent than that, I know I am...

LoneGunman I am behind you all the way, I want to see what has been said in meeting but I still believe Sentech are trying to stop us from talking out. And I wont stop they must deliver, brind their part of the deal then we do our part. In case they dont know word of mouth can be their best friend, or in this case their worst foe.

Either way, Sentech is still not 'engaging with its customers', now only with a few individuals "secretly". Understand this: I am just a customer. I am not getting anything new out of the reports of this meeting so far if you just say "well trust us things will get better soon but we're not going to tell you any details of the implementation of our fixes", because, quite frankly, that is just the same message we've been hearing from *Sentech* for months, and the same message they used while breaking several deadlines already. From where I'm sitting, and from the perspective of the thousands of other customers, nothing has changed. Have I got any new information about what's being done to fix the problem? No. I'm just a paying customer. It's not my position to "trust someone" that "it will get better soon, but we can't tell you what we're doing because it's uber-secret". Honestly, that's a f***ing childish attitude for a company to take. Certainly I can't "respect that", and at this stage it's still no less alienating and patronising to me and to every other customer who wasn't at this meeting. The secrecy certainly doesn't help rebuild my trust for Sentech - you don't help rebuild broken trust amongst your customer base by *more secrecy*. And you don't "engage with your customers" by having "secret meetings" with a tiny group of reps who supposedly represent all customers. Has Sentech tried to talk with me? No. I could give a fig about "special communication channels" and "forum reps".

I'm a customer of Sentech, I want answers from Sentech, I'm not getting them. That is all there is to it. It's REALLY THAT SIMPLE.

Just keep this in mind if you're wondering why the forum is still so hostile over your perceived secretiveness - from our perspective, nothing's changed. I've dealt with slick, smooth-talking manipulative guys like Sentech management before, and I know how easy it is to get talked into believing that they "have really changed", I have no reason to believe that they've changed and there is no actual reason to believe that they've changed, just words so far.

If the entire userbase of Sentech had rocked for the meeting, it would have been a one way mud slinging match. Nothing productive would have come from it. The guys that attended (theRodent, greedfly, noone, kickass72, arf999, donovan, deon etc) have never so much as hinted that they are happy to take any kind of misdirection from Sentech. Hell they are the guys that have been championing our cause at their own cost.

There will NOT be any kind of censoring or withholding of information. What has been happening since the meeting is that the attendees have been getting the transcripts together and generally researching what Sentech told us for any kind of lies on their part.
Being a weekend, they have also been busy living their lives [;)]

I was not at the meeting myself, and am about as much in the dark as the rest. We need to respect these guys work and support them. A little patience never hurt, and it will be worth the wait...

Concerning the "silence" of senior members ...

There was NO request by Sentech or even the User group for silence... I,as with others who attended the meeting, simply wish to get the minutes in my hands... review the data and then make a detailed and informed posting here.

I have ALWAYS been willing to "work together" with Sentech - not just since the meeting...I want the problems fixed ... don't you ?
