Anyone have any experience on getting one of the many companies with fibre to actually call them back?

I'm hounding mweb (who have run about 400m of fibre in the same building as me since I first asked, in the roof above my head) but not getting far. I guess I could hijack one of their switch ports myself, but I imagine they would not be impressed.

I really just want internet.

With MWeb I find the best trick is to escalate on Social Networks. Post to their FB Page.

Who have you been calling? Their cistomer support centre doesnt call out

The issue you are having probably relates to the fact you have a non-std service request

Yeh, I had contacts, they ALL left Mweb.

I have 1 email address as a point of contact currently. I have been mailing him pictures of the install they're doing currently all day.

Tomorrow I'll get the contractors to pose for a team shot.

I'm expecting decent internet since the FREE stuff they give me looks like this:

I literally just want to pay them money for the same thing.

So I'll keep this thread going.

Mweb offered me Neotel Fibre. If I wanted that I would have called Neotel. :(

Fibre cabling is being layed out along Durban road along Bo Oakdale... I hope this means the area will be enabled soon

I'm thinking we won't get fibre in Oakdale for the next 3-5 years (if not longer)

I do see movement on the FTTH scene but it's moving slowly and only in the "Laanie" areas. Areas where it's gated community's or newly Built complexes or New Areas where the new lines are installed as "The standard"

Fibre optics is a standard <- Very high one

I'm also in Oakdale and stuck on ADSL 10mbit (my area says VDSL upto 10mbit... no one knows if we can actually use a VDSL modem)
