Fibre in Northriding - Help me make some smart choices please

So after an eternity of digging and trenching and pink vans with dodgy dudes all over the place our complex body corp has finally sent out a letter saying that we have access to fibre. The fibre dudes (Vumatel) have ran a pipe along the boundary walls of my complex and I have a mysterious grey box mounted in my yard that mocks me whenever I look at it.

I have decided (i.e I have convinced the missus with promises of smoother Netflix) to go ahead and upgrade my painfully slow ADSL line to fibre. The Vumatel guys were in my complex as were MWeb people and both were rather unconvincing as to the approach and packages. I left my details with them and the only response has been the soothing sounds of crickets in the winter evening...

Right so onto the help bit. Can you guys help me out with advice on:

- Do I deal with an ISP or Vumatel to complete the transaction. I guess someone needs to run the last bit from the aforementioned box to my study, who does that?
- There appears to be a million choices on Vumatel in terms of ISP's and packages. I want to spend 1K a month, any suggestions as to the best options
- I have been haunting the forums and seen some posts that are not so complimentary about MWEB, any opinions on WebAfrica (I have dealt with them in the past) or any other ISP recommendations.
- Installation costs, some packages cover them and others dont. I assume the ones that do have a contract attached to them. Is it advisable to take on a contract with these guys or to stomach the cash hit upfront for flexibility?

All I want to do is play play Overwatch and watch Netflix with an improved experience.

Any help to make sure I dont cock this thing up would be greatly appreciated. In return I promise warm thoughts and feedback to the forum on how this whole thing goes.

My thanks in advance.

You will have to get Vumatel to run the Fibre from that Grey box to your home. Not as easy as you may think I have a lot of paving blocks that were damaged in the process, they promised that they will come through and fix it. Once your CPE is installed, you log onto the Vuma default page and order your package and you are sorted. I went with Cool ideas painless and done within 5 minutes.

Cost was R1710 for the Vuma installation
R799.00 for the Cool Ideas Package ( 20 Down and 2 Up)
Used own equipment didn't opt for the free router

Thanks Nithian, I spoke to Vumatel and they vaguely promised to call on Monday.
