Fibre installation somerset park umhlanga???

I have noticed trenching opposite my house and it seems to be a huge hole dug out.
There have been biz africa trucks dropping workers off to dig.
Could this be a special fibre exchange or something?

Telkom Fiber. Biz Africa working for them. You will have to wait still quite a long time before your area goes live.

Hopefully not longer than 2-3 months. Just glad fibre is coming. Theres also 123net but they pretty quiet.

Yes, 123Net is quiet. The one lady in our office have been with them for over a year and has been loving there service.
Been down only twice since installation, and they respond immediate once call is logged. Some SpeedTest results she showed me is amazing.
Telkom has completed my road over six months ago, but still not active.

I hope the dudes digging those holes have taken the tree roots into consideration ?
They grow and extend and move and lift stuff up
Tree is a -- Vachellia xanthophloea ( used to be ACACIA then the Aussies moaned and send Acacia is Australian )
I would suggest rather stupid putting ANYTHING there ...... ( so close to a tree )

Im not sure about Somerset in Durban, but my sister lives in Mt Edgecombe and she has fibre.

Parents also live near Autumn drive and have fibre as well.

Both of them were provided by Telkom, So I'm guessing they're doing the whole of Umhlanga?

Somerset park was serviced by 123net. Now telkom installing and their fibre coverage map will prive that.

Please keep this post updated, I'm also from Somerset Park. I have a 20mbps VDSL but the upload speed is terrible sitting at 1mbps. I want to also get a fibre line.

So in the past 2 months there were red uniformed trenchers working at a blistering pace with fibre, and im sure they almost done with Somerset park.
Definitely a different fibre company.
Telkom and openserve is offering fibre (midsomer crescent) on their coverage maps respectively. Hope it works out!
