Fibre internet in Gauteng on Openserve (Telkom) network

Sigh, ok, will have to wait then. I know Huawei had to redo some of the manholes in our complex up to three times. I am on Rain LTE at the moment as our DSL is up to scrap. I just hope the fibre is in by the time the double data promo ends.

22 months, no fibre yet. Project should have been signed out but Openserve keeps finding faults, which may not be such a bad thing.

Anyone know what might be happening with the 200Mbps from Telkom directly?

We can only get our line from them(Estate contract). Seeing as how they have opened this up to Openserve customers is extremely frustrating that along side the fact they they were expected to reveal offerings before the end of June.

Maybe needed some more expansion on my question.

I see Openserve offers it and that we had a main article saying Telkom would reveal their offerings end of June, so main question was if anyone had any insights into this delay or any new info from them?

Indeed, it is a bit odd that the 200Mbps product already seems to be offered by Openserve (hence the independent ISPs offering it too), but nothing direct from Telkom retail as yet.

I've spoken to the gated community reps a few times the past few months, and most i've been able to get out of them is that the 200mb service has not been activated as of yet, but coming 'in the near future'.

Hopefully near future still means 2018

So, still no movement on fibre trenching in Bronberrick. I highlighted the complexes in the area and it seems to be an attractive area as it is quite densely populated. So tired of slow, unreliable internet

Finally been approached by a company called Acquivate to lay the fibre into our complex. Bit concerned that they seem to be fairly unknown. Facebook page was set up in August 2018, and no website. Anybody else dealing with them?

So they started trenching yesterday! I am hopeful that we will fibre by June next year :/

Mine comes from the supplier, in my case Openserve.

My B number was written on the ONT box

The installer that installs the ONT needs to call Telkom DTEC I think and they activate the line and write the B number on the ONT box. Then they just told me wait for ISP to call or you can call your ISP with B number.
