Hey all I am at my wit's end and need some urgent advice guidance, I have never seen such pitiful service for a simple release of a line,

I am the new homeowner and the previous TENANT not even the owner is holding up the line He claims he paid and I should pay his bill and he will give me the wifi pin ? he refuses to send me the cancelation letter he sent in, on the other hand, I have Afrihost that send me auto responses daily telling me they escalated it and waiting on Vuma to release this line for my order to be processed, my calls and emails to Afrihost is endless and no one is taking responsibility of this, I have to work with this line so this is so urgent and it has been more than a week of no movement on this matter, please help anyone !!!!!! by the way this TENANT lives in JHB and I am in cape town so no one is using this line they cant release any way , please help someone

Can you use a different service provider, like Cool Ideas or similar?
Afrihost support staff are totally useless, they have no clue how todo their jobs, hence I’m not surprised at your experience with them and it's only going to get worse. They will string you along for weeks without getting anything done.

Someone is, it is you.
They seem to do this because that way the new tenant gets to fix the old tenants accounts for them, much cheaper than hiring lawyers.

You certainly can have two lines on a property. I have one from Metrofibre and another from Openserve.

Try again, first consultant clearly didn't want the sale.

Possible both are using Openserve or similar in the area.

Yup Afrihost will tell you once a day they are working on it but nada will be done and they typically assign a new agent each day to your case who then starts near from scratch each time asking same questions you've answered 3 times already . What a bunch of idiots.

Have a totally new fibre line installed from a different network and then get a decent isp like Coolideas who have support staff that can use their brains. @PBCool can you perhaps help the op?

arg I hear you I have now decided to give up on them , I hope cool Ideas reply I am signing up with rain since I can get access immediately with them , not sure if its the best Idea for now though

Similar issue with my move. Because the previous tenant was late to cancel (not the month before his last) they have billed him, and now I must wait to month end for his provider to release line, so mine gets access.

I take my office LTE router home with me in the interim.

I wouldn't sign up for a with Rain unless it's not a contract, maybe in the interim find a 2hnd 4g router on facebook marketplace or Bob and buy a monthly data bundle from one of the networks, just check the network speed in your location with your phone before buying the data bundle. From my experience the huawei B618s-22D is an awesome router that is often sold for around R500-R700

WebSquad managed to do this for me when SuperSonic(?) decided to just take my line.
3-4 years back though before I move to Afrihost

Can't they rather have a whole new line installed, on the property I'm on there's 2 fibre lines one from Telkom and one from some other provider.
