Fibre prices in South Africa - Comparison between networks and ISPs

Mind the speed it is then.

How is there service?

I need 50/50 Vumatel which sucks cause they are more expensive than SADV which I have currently.

Interesting that Frogfoot also offers a cheaper 100Mbps service under Afrihost:

R847 for 20Down/2Up for Afrihost on Vuma highlights how expensive things are on Afrihost right now. I guess one has to pay for a good service.

I found on the article on My Broadband the fibre prices that there is no mention of Vuma Reach @ R399 for 20 Down and 10 Up, This is a good price if you take the speed in to consideration.
Why would the ISP'S not advertise Vuma Reach?

Because of the only 2 people that can get it?

"Showdown" in the MyBB headline (doesn't seem to match what is here in the forum) is somewhat misleading.

Most places you have a choice of precisely one fibre provider. ISPs sure, but where I am... Octotel it is, take it or struggle with ADSL or Rain.

Stuck with Vuma over here.

Hi Swa, will you please explain your reply ( only 2 people can get it ) as I do not know much about fibre.
Thanks
Because as I understand it the 20/10 for R399 is for areas such as Mitchell's Plain. That's the only small place I know of where "Vuma Reach" currently is. Hardly makes sense to focus on it bit ISPs do advertise it as Mitchell's Fibre.

This has just reminded me. They have uncapped fibre for R399 prepaid. No installation, activation or commitment. Why does Vumatel discriminate against the rest of us?
