So fibre is finally live in my area (after the cables were laid a year ago) so I've put my order in through Axxess. It means I need to get my own router. Bit of an amateur with this stuff so just want to make sure I get it right.

I was looking at this.

http://www.wootware.co.za/tp-link-archer-c2-ac750-dual-band-wireless-ac-gigabit-router.html

My current ADSL router connects via ethernet to my PC and then via ethernet to one of these:

https://www.trendnet.com/products/proddetail?prod=140_TEW-638APB

Which is centrally located to provide wireless through the house.

So...

1 - Is that Archer decent? I'm getting 100mbps.

2 - Will it be able to wirelessly connect to that access point? It's just 10m and one wall away. Would be nice to be able to remove that extra ethernet cable.

Thanks.

The Archer C20 has atrocious wifi signal, the C2 is one model above but the wifi signal does seem to be better on it. The C2 has Gigabit ports which is a must and would be slightly beneficial on a 100Mb connection. As for wirelessly connecting to the access point, it should be able to no problem but honestly just use the cable, cable is always better.
FYI Web Africa gives all their fibre customers the Archer C20, so it is definitely fine for fibre.

Thanks for the info. The Archer I linked to is the C2, isn't it?
