Hi all,

I really need help from you guys with Fibre as well as Twitch accounts please.

Please can you goto http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/tech-support/478845-twitchtest-twitch-bandwidth-tester and download the Twitch Bandwidth Tester

Run it and select the following options:

Stream key: You'll need to copy and paste this from your twitch account - if you don't have one, please create and account and get one, you can deactivate it after.
Regions to test: Select all please
TCP Windows Size: Automatic (OBS)
Test Duration: Long, 60 Seconds

Start the test and let it go.
Once complete - please can you copy and paste the results (of the whole list) here on this thread along with what speed FIBRE you have.

Thanks

I was able to run the test without adding any key or using my Twitch account, can anyone please confirm, this will really help Nick out.

Test duration's set to long seem to have pretty bad performance in general.

I wonder why the Italian server gives better results than the UK one.

Nick maybe you should do another test stream and choose Milan as the ingest server, since the max bitrate you're going to use is 3500Kbps, you have double that speed on your test.

Everyone here seems to be able to do the 3500Kbps with bandwidth to spare.

Tests were run at 12:20 - 13:00 on 100/50 Axxess (OpenServe) fibre.

I won't even try to run this test during the evening. I might try a post-midnight test on Friday or Saturday and post results again.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the posts - sorry for the delayed reply - It seems I didn't subscribe to this thread so I missed all the posts.

Any others able to do more tests please.

EDIT: As it stands, is it agreed that TWITCH doesn't seem possible for South Africans? Regardless of the ISP etc?

I tried to run the test on Linux under wine (I don't run Windows), but it crashed partway due to an unimplemented API call :whistling:

From the results others have posted, it looks to me like if you want to stream 1080p @ 60 Hz you'll be out of luck, but more modest streaming should be possible?

Yeah, that was the original issue - but I was forced to come to YouTube Gaming allowing me to stream at 1080p @ 60 FPS - however, YTG is def not the greatest platform for gamers - Twitch is... so where I had over 600 followers on Twitch, on YTG I only have 54 and slowly going up.
