One thing I really don't understand in the Denmark vs Croatia match last night, how in the world did Jorgensen avoid a red card there for that last man tackle on Ante Rebic????

red cards are no longer given when denying a clear goal scoring opportunity as the opposition is given a new clear goal scoring opportunity ( penalty)

Red cards are given when the opposition isn't making a clear attempt to play the ball. i.e he only has eyes for his man and has no intention of taking the ball ( think suarez 2010 WC with his handball - that would be a red)

in this instance - jorgensen attempted to play the ball thus avoiding the red card.

( that's my understanding - could be wrong )
