He admitted he handled the ball and even wanted a replay because he knew his cheating had cost Ireland dearly. He then sits next to an irish player to console him.

well then what about gerrard for diving against blackburn this past weekend?
or rooney who dived against arsenal at the emirates this season - we could be level on points, if we come second by 2 points shouldnt rooney be banned for costing arsenal dearly? those incidents also bring the game into disrepute, but the fact is, the english media doesnt harp on about those incidents because they are english players so they get left alone.. henry is being vilified for doing something that every single top level player is guilty of..

what about ireland, shouldnt they be punished for robbing georgia of their place in the world cup?

I reckon that Erin Atar's goal is the best.. Last time i saw a bicycle kick like that was from Marco Van Basten..

As for Henry cheating.. they should investigate the whole Serie A for diving and misleading the ref then...

And have you forgotten about Zidane head-butting someone in the world cup final.... Much worse than what Henry did if u ask me... Henry tried his luck, got away with it, good for him.. Those of you who have played soccer will know that everyone tries to bend the rules a bit when they can, like a shirt pull here, a push in the box there... It part of the game..

Ya but they need to start banning players for cheating. If you dive 3 match ban, do it again within the next 6 months 8 match ban.

They need to stamp cheating out of the game. It is also making life for a ref near impossible. What is a foul and what is BS is becoming rather difficult for them as they only get one look in real time. How the biggest sport on the planet has not incorporated technology yet is beyond me.

If anything.. i reckon they should re-implement the rule where the ref moves a free-kick 10yards for dissent.. But that needs to be enforced this time. That will stamp out dissent and that willl bring some discipline back into the game
